Looking better but still crazy

So I officially gave up my shampoo today. I did an ac vinager wash and was so happy with how soft my hair is. Once upon a time I used to ac vinager wash regularly. I didn't realize that my curls started looking drab and lame because I had started using a sulfate shampoo instead of ac vinegar. Those shabby looking girls is what drove me to straighten my waves for years. Just for fun I added a comparison from this past Thursday and today. Thursday I had washed my hair with harsh sulfate shampoo and used Curly Sexy Hair. Today is the picture on the right. It has simply been washed with ac vinager. Yay!! Now I just need products that work with it. I think I'm pretty medium across the board, maybe a little more heavy on the dense side.

That is what I thought ! I recently chopped all of my hair off to grow it back out healthy. This picture is old but it's when I was washing my waves with ac vinegar years ago.

I'm wondering about this vinegar wash... does it actually cleanse your hair and scalp?

What is the advantage over gentle low-pooing or cowashing?

Some people like it because they feel it's more natural, if you have hard water you might particularly notice the benefit, some people's hair seems to hate vinegar generally, perhaps to do with porosity.

How effective it is to cleanse really depends on technique, if you use any other products, how thick your sebum is and how much you produce - some people can get a decent cleanse from the massage alone. It's not that different from water only washing; there are lengthy threads on these types of methods over on the Long Hair Community forums if you are interested.

Considering how good it cleans everything else I imagine it cleans well. But I wouldn't want to do it too much. Makes my hair so soft I can barely do anything with it.
