Flexible hair?

Hi all!

My hair is incapable of bouncing back after being up in a scrunchy, even if it's only for an hour or so. I usually put it in a bun to get my hair off my neck, but taking it down transforms it into something i don't want to go out with.

I don't know if it's because my hair is short (it's about should length when wet), or maybe I'm not using good products.

Also, how do I get those sprouting baby hairs to stay down when my hair is tied up? They just stick up because they aren't long enough to be pulled back.

Any suggestions?

I feel ya. AS soon as I put my hair up for just a bit, or lay it on a pillow or whatever, major loss of volume, it just flattens out and loses all shape.

I keep a mixture of distilled water with some conditioner in a spray bottle. When I take my hair out of a ponytail or bun, I shake the mixture well, then spray my hands, sandwich sections of hair between my palms, then lightly run them down the length of the section I'm working on two or three times, just to dampen, before moving on to the next section, working my way around my head. I spritz my hands again, flip my hair over, insert my fingers into my hair at the scalp, and lightly dampen the roots. Then I scrunch my hair well, support my hair in my hands, and go back upright. The only thing I do after that is adjust my part, and that only if it's really dreadful.

Then walk away from the mirror no matter what it looks like. Give it 5-10 minutes to dry. It will have settled quite a bit by then, but have refreshed curls, and should have more bounce and body.
