I'm thinking of going sulfate free...

Hi! I'm thinking of going sulfate free, but I need help with product selection. I have mostly 3b curls (but with an under layer of 2b and c), high density, low porosity, coarse, and medium length (it used to be long, but I just had 1 1/2 inches cut off because my split ends were so bad).

Currently, I use Suave Professionals Moroccan Shine shampoo and conditioner with Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave-In Conditioner, and my hair is relatively soft, but it's still kind of frizzy, so I wanted to see if I could get smoother, more defined curls by switching to sulfate/silicone free products.

The products I was thinking of were SheaMoisture Moisture Retention Shampoo and TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner as my shampoo/conditioner, one of the VO5 clarifying conditioners when I need to clarify my hair, and L'Oreal EverSleek Smoothing Deep Conditioner once a week. I also want to use a leave-in conditioner, but would like some suggestions (I would prefer if any product suggestions are available at drugstores, Walmart, Target, etc. for under $10).

My plan was to shampoo 2 to 3 times a week, condition everyday (would I co-wash on days that I don't shampoo?), use the leave in everyday, deep conditioner weekly, and perhaps clarify once a month. Does this sound about right, or am I way off?

I have a different texture and type but I know from experience that the Garnier Fructis line dries my hair out and makes it frizzy. As far as your regimen, you're off to a great start.
You really don't need to shampoo but maybe once every week or 2 weeks with a non-sulfate shampoo only when your hair has accumulated product build up. You could use a leave-in conditioner every day or every other day. I recommend Shea Moisture's Restorative Conditioner or Baobab Volumizing Conditioner (both at Target for $9.99-11.99). Definitely consider an oil like olive, coconut, jojoba, or castor oils as needed. And yes, cowash instead of shampooing as often.

I have 3b/c curls that are course & dry. I only wash my hair once a week. I co-wash with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Conditioner. When I need to clarify my hair (every 2 weeks) I use the Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo. For my leave-ins I use the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Style Milk, and then I use the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. After that I apply a little bit of Jojoba Oil, and finish off with my Krystal Eco Styler Gel. My hair ends up lasting the whole week without adding anymore product in it. All of these products can be found at Target. The Eco-Styler gel can be found at Walmart. If you're into following the CG method, these are all CG friendly too!
