Looks like type 3B to me. If you wanna keep your curls, maybe try a leave in conditioner and/or curl enhancing products. For myself, I use: Kinky Curly Knot Today (leave in conditioner), As I Am Curling Jelly or Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. You could also use styling gels like Eco Styler Gel to enhance your curls.

It all depends on how much you want to invest in hair products and what works for you. Hope I helped (:

Well in the photo your hair looks 3b so when its dry it can turn to 3c. For example my hair is2a when its wet and 2c-3A WHEN ITS DRY.Ok i think that if you are growing out your hair after some months it will lay much flatter. About curl defining i can tell you 3 words that turned my frizzy ball into beautiful curls CURLY GIRL METHOD

Everyone has their own approach to hair "typing". My opinion/approach:

Andre's typing system works on dry hair.

The problem with typing hair while wet is that water relaxes and weighs hair down to different degrees on different heads of curls. I'm about a 3b/c, but when it's wet it's about 2a/b. Some other 3b/c might be a 1c/2a when wet, and yet another 3b/c will be a 3a when wet. I'm not sure what you are when dry, OP. Since Andre assessed dry hair and - let's face it - that's how most of us wear it about 95% of the time, I would personally type it while it's in it's dry state. Do you have pics of your hair while dry?

Another consideration: if your curl pattern looks drastically different from its wet to dry state, it may not be realistic to chase after a goal of making it look wet when it's in its dry state. Then again, if your dry hair looks a lot different from your wet hair because something in your products or styling methods are drying the hair out or disrupting the curl pattern as it dries, you might be able to fix the problem by adjusting your products or routine.

I met someone this past weekend that had amazing curls like yours. I could not stop staring at them! Curly hair needs lots of moisturizing. When I asked him what he did to get his hair that way and what his routine was, he said just basically wash, some conditioner, shake and go! Good luck!
