hey all,,

HELP! I have been relaxer free since September 2012 and did TBC on december 2012. I have had a rough go with the natural route. I think that I am a 4b girl and I do use Shea Moisture products. I also use Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner when necessary but Im not gaining length. I just need some direction...dont wanna go back to the creamy crack lol.

Welcome! Relaxer won't help you gain length, is shrinkage or breakage the issue?

You can try speeding up growth with regular scalp massage (some swear by sea kelp bioferment), daily physical activity (get your 10,000 steps every day) and a balanced, varied, nutrient dense wholefood diet. You might also try products aimed at hair loss/ growth such as Regenepure or Komaza Care.

If you have an issue with shrinkage check out YouTube for styling/ stretching/ accessory ideas. Personally I adore the look of a TWA with an oversized flower.

Scalp massage does help a lot. Mix scalp stimulating essential oils such as tea tree, lavender, or peppermint into your carrier oil of choice (I recommend jojoba because it's similar to the oil that your scalp naturally produces), massage the oil mixture into your entire scalp for 5-10 minutes, then wash it off with a moisturizing shampoo. Make sure you get your scalp completely clean afterwards, because oil buildup on the scalp can slow down hair growth. Also, I've noticed that my hair has been growing at a faster rate since I started taking biotin vitamins.
