Tsk, Tsk, Seventeen Magazine!

I was flipping through an old issue of Seventeen (August 2012-- Shay Mitchell on the cover) while working out, and I came across a hairstyle spread: "Best Curls Ever!"

Subtitle: "Unplug that flat-iron and stop all that straightening! With these new style ideas, you'll be crushing on your curly texture."

Except that one of the hairstyles, called "Perfect Swirls," did, in fact, call for a curling iron to "define your natural curls."

Uh, okay. :goofy:

On the surface, I thought it was cool to see a feature with hairstyles specifically for curly hair. But then I realized... "With these new style ideas, you'll be crushing on your curly texture."

Seems we need topknots, side braids, and faux bobs (three of the styles featured) or touch-ups with a curling iron in order to love our curly hair.

Seems a little backhanded to me. :sad11:

At the very least, the model looked like a natural curly to me. I'd put her at 2c, same as me ;)
