Deep conditioning product

I'm in need of good deep conditioning product. I need one that is CG approved. I just used DevaCurl Heaven and Hair.....and it sucked!!! I'm a fan of their products but this one was a flop!

Heaven in hair doesn't work that way for me either. It works well for me as a leave-in/styler, though.
For deep treatments, my favorite is Curl Junkie Curl Rehab (strawberry)
2a or b, highlighted, fine hair but lots of it
    Modified CG since 6/11

    Low Poo: CJ Daily Fix
    Co-Wash: DevaCurl No Poo
Rinse Out: CJ Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner or Deva One C
    DT: CJ Rehab
Stylers: Deva Heaven in Hair as a Leave-in, followed by Arc Angel
    SOTC: CJ CIAB

Firefox, I have no idea what my hair properties are. :/ all I know it's thick, semi corse with spirally curls. 85% of the time it feels dry.

Check out the stickies here on this forum and the information on the Live Curly Live Free website, you need to know your properties especially porosity to choose products successfully.

Heaven in Hair has little in it that will do much, a fair bit of glycerin which is humectant (attracts water) and that is about it. Little to nothing that will penetrate or patch repair nor much to hold the water in (occlusives/ oils and butters). What specifically sucked about it? Did it do nothing or something but not what you expected?

Don't expect instant gratification from CG friendly products it's about choosing good ingredients and playing the long game. With commercial products the instant gratification often comes from silicones not actually improving the health or condition of hair.

Its expensive but Ouidad deep conditioner is really good. You just leave it on 12 minutes using a plastic cap, put some heat on a few minutes and the hair comes out soft. I got a few of them when she had a good sale of 25% off.
Hair type, thin, 3b, past my shoulders always looking for length. Use jessicurl hair cleansing cream, devacurl one c, angel, set it free, Always see a deva trained stylist for cut and Aveda Institute for color.

Firefox, the Heaven in hair made my scalp burn and itch. The other products don't do that. I've been natural for 3 wks and my hair has been awesome until Heaven in Hair. I thought I would do a deep treatment once a week...it won't be that one......

Eeep! What about making up your own deep conditioner with ingredients you know you are safe with? Just use your regular conditioner as a base, add some coconut/ avocado/ olive oil (all can penetrate), honey and/ or aloe vera gel (both humectants).

You might also review your diet, that can strengthen the skin barrier and calm inappropriate immune responses. Essential fatty acids especially from oily fish are key. Plenty of new mums forget to take care of themselves when they are busy with their little one.
