Tresemme Naturals Moisture has protein

pharaohpharaoh Posts: 156Registered Users Curl Neophyte
I've been using this for awhile and at first loved it. For the last four months NONE of the hair products I try seem to work. I thought, ok I'll look up this conditioner and see the attributes. When I look it up under the "products review" It doesn't give me the NO protein symbol. Does this product have protein somewhere?
Water (Aqua) , Stearyl Alcohol , Cetyl Alcohol , Caprylic , Capric Triglyceride , Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine , Fragrance (Parfum) , Lauroyl Lysine , Caprylyl Glycol , Brassica Campestris , Aleurites Fordi Oil Copolymer , Aspartic Acid , Distearyldimonium Chloride , Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado) , Citric Acid , Alcohol , Isopropyl Alcohol , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice

I see people are saying the formula changed...What can I use as a RO with NO protein, silicones, glycerin, mineral oil?

Thanks so much!!!

I would love to know because I've been using it to cowash and it has dried my hair out. At first I loved it but now.. I'm gradually nursing my hair because it's angry at me.

Wow Aabida, Me too. At one time I had four large containers in the closet. It worked great for awhile. Now no matter what products I try, the waves are not there out of the shower. A month ago I sulfate washed and they all came back, now gone again.

I now am on a search for a NEW cowash that has no protein, silicones or hopefully glycerin! BLA:confused3:

Darn, I just bought this. I don't care about the protein, but I'm sorry to hear so many people say they don't like it after the ingredients change. I haven't opened it yet - maybe I'll return it.

The formula change was moving the aloe and avocado oil up the ingredients list. But I have noticed my hair isn't as moisturized as I'd like it to be. I'm thinking about trying some other conditioners like that Aussie I use to ADORE!

there's no protein but i heard that aloe acts as a protein. which my hair doesnt like if its in any leave in or high up on
a rinse out. your hair might be dry because of the isopropyl alcohol??? thats a super drying alcohol.

Thanks hambo. This is maddening! Went to Walmart last night for a quick fix, i picked up tressemes naturals volume condish, didn't seem to have protein, silicone or aloe...but ill have to look for the alcohol, something has messed my hair up, and now that i think about it, it goes back to opening the new bottle of tresseme! Any suggestions would be great. No aloe, protein, castor oil, silicone or alcohols!

I just looked at my bottle upstairs and aloe is in the middle of the ingredients...then I just looked at the list I printed in this chain...I got them online. Aloe is almost at the very bottom. No wonder my hair has been horrible. Honestly no matter how many new products I tried, it has just been flat and non wavy. At least I now have a starting point. Just need to find a new RO. I'd love any suggestions!

Aloe vera does not act as a protein, I wish this pseudoscience would stop being repeated. AV and protein are both humectants just like glycerin, perhaps you don't do well with humectants either due to your hair properties or dew points/ humidity.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
    Experimenting with: benign neglect

It was the Aussie Moist. I stopped using it because I was shedding too much, but Tresemme Naturals just doesn't give me that moisturized feeling and super slip Aussie did. I miss it.

If you don't like aloe the TN Volumizing Conditioner does not have it.
  • pharaohpharaoh Posts: 156Registered Users Curl Neophyte
    Thanks Spiral!
I did pick some of the TN volume up. It is not my favorite, but it will work.
Still looking for something moisturizing that is protein free, coconut free, silicone free, castor oil free, glycerin free and mineral oil free. BLA!

I just bought my second bottle of TN conditioner. This one has a black and green cap whereas my first one had a green cap. The second bottle has no alcohol and the avocado has bumped up the ingredient list. Which one is the newer one?
I'm going to go ahead and say 3a
    fine/medium texture and a bit porous-I color
Spring routine: Renpure luxurious argan oil shampoo/Loreal Advanced Care Color conditioner , HETT gel
    Microfiber towel/diffuse
    Trying KKCC

Does AV also seal the cuticle? I'm thinking my hair doesn't like it because it's already low porosity. It gives my hair a weird squeaky feeling.
