*olive oil help*

EVOO seems to have a very nice effect on my hair, but what is it actually doing? Is it moisturizing and strengthening my hair or is it just sealing in preexisting moisture?

Cowash-suave naturals
Styler-16 tbls garnier fructis sleek & shine intensely smooth leave in conditioning cream, 10 tbls aloe vera gel, 6 tbls agave nectar, 1oz cocoa butter, 1ts vitamen E oil, 1ts evoo, 1ts apricot oil... and sometimes flax seed gel

    The oleic acid penetrates so should be able to reduce porosity, AFAIK there is no scientific evidence for any other specific beneficial effect. It is the lauric acid in coconut oil (also babassu oil, palm kernel, tucuma butter) that has the affinity for protein so helps prevent damage.

    Oils do not moisturise - add or increase water - they are water repellent.
    2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

    CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
    Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
    Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
    Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
    Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
