In search of: gentler shampoo that will cut the 'cones

My daughter is going to college in the fall and doesn't want to go CG, but would like a more gentle/less drying shampoo. She's using Nexxus Humectress conditioner and doesn't want to change, but it's rather coney (I bolded what I think are the cones):

Water (Aqua) , Cetearyl Alcohol , Stearyl Alcohol , Cyclopentasiloxane , Dimethicone , Bis PG AmodimethiconeC13-15 Alkoxy , Stearalkonium Chloride , Fragrance (Parfum) , Aminopropyl Dimethicone , Cetrimonium Chloride , Isostearamidopropyl Dimethylamine , DMDM Hydantoin , Dimethiconol , C14 15 Alcohols , Limonene , Disodium EDTA , Citric Acid , Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate , Citronellol , Coumarin , Geraniol , Hexylcinnamal , Sodium Chloride , Hydrolyzed Keratin , Panthenol , Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) OilCoconut , Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140) , Propylene Glycol , Red 4 (CI 14700) , Red 33 (CI 17200) , Polyglyceryl 3 Diisostearate , Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090) , Polysorbate 60 , Stearic Acid , Palmitic Acid , Myristic Acid , Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride , Honey Extract (Mel) , Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Flour LipidsWheat , Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado) , Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) , Glycine Soja Sterol (Soybean) , Alpha Glucan Oligosaccharide , Ceramide 3 , Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate , Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane , Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

She's currently using a standard Tresemme shampoo. I need to find her something not terribly expensive that's readily available and doesn't come in tiny bottles. She's going to be in a very challenging program and doesn't want to think about it - she just wants to do the same thing every day.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Would she be willing to try a cleansing conditioner? I use cones and I clarify once a week with a sulphate to get rid of them. My clarifying shampoo is from Great Clips and it rocks. It's 9 bucks, but I have had it for 6 months and it's not even halfway gone.
I hear anything with coco betatine will take them out. I believe that the Yes To products work for this.

Cationic Surfactants in Curly Hair Care Products

    What's the Scoop on Silicones?

The Giovanni poos have silicone-breaking surfactants in them and are rather gentle. I like them! I've tried the 50/50 and TTTT.

What are her hair properties and what will be the humidity/ dew points she will be dealing with? CURLS is a widely available brand now being stocked in Walmart and Target and they do a low-poo. They also have massive bottles of their regular line on the CURLS website.

She's medium, pretty dense. No idea on porosity. She gets frizz. The weather is high dews in the summer and low in the winter.

I'll look at the Curls, thanks!

I use a cleansing conditioner from the evercurl line. It'd awesome. I use cones in my leave in so I am buying Gud by Burt's Bees. It's the grapefruit one and it smells delicious. I think it's sulphate free and has the CB in it.
My clariffy shampoo is mainly to remove hard water build up so it's strong. I want to use it less often so I'm trying the Gud shampoo

It's the grey bottle with the light pink text. It's just called clarifying shampoo I think. This stuff has been a godsend for my dandruff / build up!

The ones I've used and liked:

Giovanni SaS, and Renpure Organics (keratin or Argan oil.)

The Giovanni is the "strongest" of those, but I didn't find it stripping. (Definitely not a daily poo for me, though!)

Yes to Cucumbers is another gentle low poo that should cut the cones. I have not tried it yet, but just bought it a couple days ago bc I've heard good things! (And am a PJ. Lol!)

I went to Harmon at lunch today and got her a generic (Harmon Face Values) Renpure Organics Argon Oil shampoo. It was $6 for 21 ounces vs. $6 for $16 on the name brand. :) I hope she likes it! I can stock up there for her (it's right by my office and has a great selection!) or the brand name version is available on Amazon.

I walked around with my reading glasses and list of gentle and harsh cleaning agents, lol. I wonder what the guy stocking the aisle thought of me. The woman at check out says she uses that shampoo and loves it.

Thanks for all the suggestions! You really helped me narrow down which brands to pull of the shelf and scour for ingredients.

I would also consider the Hello Hydration duo if she ever wants to try something else- it's a great price and I've had good luck with it. If you have a Costco membership you can buy it in packs of two and you get a great savings (very student friendly).

Aww bummer :P it's fine for me because my hair in so fine and thin it needs and tolerates sulphate. But if you are anti sulphate then that's a no-go.

She loves the Renpure knockoff I bought for her. After two washes her hair looks better than it has for a while, so much so that I plan to borrow it while she's at school one day to try as a low poo. :-)
