What is your all-time favorite song?

sarasarasarasara Registered Users Posts: 1,561
Or songs?

Or your favorite song right now.

I don't know what my all-time favorite song is.

I usually don't like new songs and only listen to old ones (old like 50 years ago or 5 years ago).

I'll start :D

She's more-Andy Griggs (I had a thread about it-I didn't know who sang it)
Beautiful Soul-Jesse

Yes, I know. Old fashioned.

I have a lot of favorites in Arabic music-but I don't think anyone will know them :D

I can't do just one, but here are a few I love and know every note of:

    Stranglehold - Ted Nugent
    Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Planet Rock - Soul Sonic Force
Night Moves - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
    Free Bird - Lynard Skynard
Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks

I know I am totally dating myself but I don't care. Should one of the above come on the radio, I will BLAST it and sing along badly.

Entire Albums where I love every song:
Shake Your Moneymaker - The Black Crows
    Appetite for Destruction - Gun's N Roses
White Light, White Heat, White Trash - Social Distortion
    The Joshua Tree - U2
Licensed to Ill - The Beastie Boys
The Colour and the Shape - Foo Fighters

There are tons more, but not enough room on the internet or time for me to list them all.

Great thread though, and I love reading about what other people like too..
HG: Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee (always and forever)
Cantu Naturals s & c (shampoo 1x a week), use conditioner as a co-wash every day and LI under my gel.

Air dry then diffuse canapy layers only for volume
Coconut oil before/after coloring grays and on ends.

2b/c mix waves/curls - coarse, frizz prone, med. thick, porous, at-home color, protein sensitive but I still need it sometimes, glycerin-sensitive (I think) in high humidity. After 16 years on NC.com I FINALLY figured it out..

As I was walkin' 'round Grosvenor Square
Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air,
From the other direction, she was calling my eye,
It could be an illusion, but I might as well try, might as well try.

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes.
And I knew without askin' she was into the blues.
She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls,
I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls.

In the thick of the evening when the dealing got rough,
She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff.
As I picked up my matches and was closing the door,
I had one of those flashes I'd been there before, been there before.

Well, I ain't always right but I've never been wrong.
Seldom turns out the way it does in a song.
Once in a while you get shown the light
In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Well there ain't nothing wrong with the way she moves,
Scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues.
And there's nothing wrong with the look that's in her eyes,
i had to learn the hard way, to let her pass by, let her pass by.

    Wind in the willow's playin' "Tea for Two";
The sky was yellow and the sun was blue,
Strangers stoppin' strangers just to shake their hand,
Everybody's playing in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band.

Oh my God, how could I pick one? Or even just a few?!

One song that does hold a VERY special place in my heart is "I'll Be There for You" by Bon Jovi. This has been one of my top 5 favorite songs since I was maybe 7 or 8 when my brother put it on a mixed tape. I have fond memories of me laying on my hed listening to it, belting it out, then rewinding it at the end to do over and over and over. I wore the tape out in a matter of months. The music at the beginning instantly brightens my mood to this day.

There are lots of pop-type songs that I love. My oldest favorites are "Since I Fell for You," by Lenny Welch, and Marvin Gaye's "Heard It Through the Grapevine," but when I saw the title of this thread, the first two songs that popped into my head were "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller, and "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin. LOVE them.
