Kids say the darnest things....

I work as a cashier at Walgreens and I almost always wear my big wavy hair instead of straightening it. The other day this woman and her child were checking out and the little girl was staring at me. I thought she was looking at my nose ring or my gauges at first, then she shouts " YOUR HAIR LOOKS LIKE NOODLES!!!!" the mother told her she was rude but I think the little girl meant it as a compliment.
Anyway, have you had a child make a funny comment about your waves or curls? I think kids react to curly hair more often than straight hair.

    Haha! I totally get this!

I work as a high school teacher, but for the past week I've been visiting an elementary school. The really little kids tell me that my hair looks like snakes (Medusa-style... oh, yeah!), and the older ones just want to touch the curls. It's hard to say no sometimes :)

I take almost anything a little kid says as a compliment! Nothing wrong with noodles! I like noodles. : )
    And snakes too.

    Dont take it to heart.
Keep in mind a lot of parents say negative things about curly and especially kinky curly hair. i grew up hearing negative about my hair. One reason I wear natural hair is to show little girls there is nothing wrong with their hair and they have or should have a choice on how they wear it.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

I am a director at a Learning Center. I was listening to one of our second graders read a story about farm animals. She said I had hair like a sheep's, which happens to be her favorite animal!

I've had infants grab my curls and clutch on to them with their fists haha. Have you ever tried to pry an infants fingers from your curls? Kids are strooooong! If they could speak, I think they'd say, "What's this strange twisty stuff dangling in front of my eyes?"

I sometimes get random adults asking if I'm Israeli after they stare at my face then stare at my hair and then into my face again. When I say no, some of them plow forward anyhow, saying I "look like one of them", or comparing me to some Israeli cousin of theirs LOL

A child once told me my hair was "springy" and I took that as a compliment. Lol. I have two infant nieces who can't stop touching my hair. It is adorable.

Last week I was at an indoor sports arena watching my boyfriend play hockey and sitting by myself. There was almost no one there but this little boy runs over and sits next to me, even though there were tons of seats open. After he'd been sitting there for a few minutes he reached out and boinged one of my curls! I was so surprised, I said, "what was that?!" He laughed and said he thought I was his brother! It was very silly.
