Coconut oil

Hi, I'm new hair haha. But anyways, my mom and I went to the mini market where they sell oils and food. So I found some coconut oil ( thats why I was there) and the brand is called Jaimacan pride and it's not really famous like Parachute and Spectrum. But has anyone use it? I got it for my skin and hair growth.

I use coconut oil on my hair and I love it!!!! I have such heat damaged hair that I need something to get my curls back. I get my hair damp put the melted coconut oil on then let it sit. I usually put a cap on and sleep with it, but you can keep it or for just an hour or two. Then after it sits just wash it out. To see a huge difference you have to use it once or twice a week, every week.

I'm sure it's as good as any other brand. Maybe better!

So you can use any supermarket coconut oil?

Do you need to use a shampoo to wash it out?
Salt & pepper wavy mix 2B/2C
Low to normal porosity, coarse, kinky, normal elasticity
    Current favorites:
Low poo: Yes To Cukes Color Protection (the no sulfate one)
Conditioners: Renpure MPHIP, CJ Smoothing Lotion, AB LI, CJ Curl Rehab, CJ Argan/Olive, Darcy's Pumpkin
    Style: FSG, BRHG
Pre-poo/DT: Conditioner with honey & coconut oil

II use cheap supermarket refined coconut oil since it contains the same lauric acid and helps keep my budget down, my hair is dead it won't benefit from tiny amounts of phytonutrients that might be found in extra virgin. The published research papers do not specify EVCO either.

Many report conditioner only washing is more effective than shampoo at removing any excess, be sure the product you are using is rich in emulsifiers (cationic surfactants, fatty alcohols) and not in other oils and butters. Often that means a cheap product not a branded moisturising no-poo.
2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.
    Experimenting with: benign neglect

That's where it gets complicated again. I have no idea what to look for. :-)

What would be a good option? Would the Suave Naturals Coconut conditioner be a good one?

I use coconut oil to grease my scalp & my hair loves it. Coconut & extra virgin olive oils saved my hair after my acv rinse COMPLETELY dried out my hair. I mostly put the coconut oils on my ends.

I find it really hard to wash out with just conditioner. I shampoo twice a week and condition all the other days, so I use coconut oil when I known its a day where I'm using shampoo

What kind of shampoo? Do you use a low poo?

Actually I found it the easiest to wash with conditioner and I've tried it with shampoo, baking soda, and some other ways. But I think I do it a different way. I coat my hair with conditioner on dry, as in not wet or damp hair, and leave it on for a while. I recommend for at least 30 minutes.. It always worked for me, whether it is olive oil, coconut oil, or castor oil if I do it right. I've done it with wet or damp hair but I always had some oil left over. I usually use just a cheap conditioner like suave which is pretty thin and spreads easily so I don't have to worry about using too much. It's kind of like dry deep conditioning and it doesn't dry hair out much like with shampoo.. Which I think is kind of counter-reactive with conditioning with oil. Just saying.

No. I was wondereing if anyone has ever use refined coconut oil becuase alot of people say it's bad and that I should get unrefined but it's more expinsive and has it grown their hair.

I don't think brand really matters, I've tried 3 of them and all were good, Coconut oil makes my hair much softer and I also noticed that my hair grows faster when I apply the oil regularly.

I use regular coconut oil. LouAna brand. I stopped using coconut oil in my hair though because it really does better with vegetable oil. Actually now days I rarely use oil. (I thought other naturals were INSANE when I heard them say this!!! LoL! But now I see it. )

I think the Parachute brand might be a mix but I'm not sure. Did you Google the ingredients? I use Nutiva brand every week to PrePoo. It helps to keep my hair elongated when I'm washing it.

I have better success with the organic unrefined coconut oil. I have used Spectrum coconut oil for hair and skin and EFA Gold EVCO. I love them both :-) I use this as a prepoo from scalp to tips and in my protein DC.
