silk pillowcase question

I am all set to order a CurlMart silk pillowcase but someone mentioned to me that silk is heavily sprayed with pesticide, just wondering if anyone is concerned with this. Of course on other hand unless we are using organic cotton, cotton is the most heavily sprayed. brit

    As silk is a fiber made from an animal I am not sure where or why a pesticide would be used.
