OK, So I've been told I have "cotton hair." I think from the definitions given on this site, I have 4b+ hair. So does cotton = 4b?

No, cotton describes how your hair interacts with water and the number system defines your curl pattern. For example I have 4a pensprings but also have cottony hair. Some people have 4a curls identical to mine but have wiry hair so it looks shinier/silkier. If you google "LOIS system hair typing" you should be able to find a really good explanation of it. There's also probably a few discussions on here, but I never can get the search to work. I hope that helps.

I use cottony to describe the feel of my hair. In its natural state its fluffy but also has tight waves and curls and tight ringlets.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
