In need of some advice!! Please Help!

So i recently decided to go back to being natural, well i always have been but i had very bad heat damaged hair, My hair is finally at a better state i have most of the heat damaged cut off over the past 2 years and now its shoulder length with only minor heat damage left more at the crown. I want to get a brazilian keratin treatment to help speedy the growing process and also since i heard it coats the hair by protecting it, I thought why not give it a try the person i will be getting it done by has been doing it for many years shes also brazilian and so are her products she said it would help with the process and wont do any further damage. Help me out Naturally Curly gals do you think its a good idea for me to give it a go?

I can tell you that Brazilian blowouts did not help my natural hair, while I have been able to regain some of the curl, it's still not what it was before treatment (my last was in September 12) you may be ok with just one treatment, but repeat treatments can cause long term changes.

I don't think it will speed up your recovery, or protect the hair though.

I ve been BKTing about 2,5 years and my hair has never been better, plus it gained some Certain ladies here have experienced permanent pattern change (or so they say). Personally I see my curls return after 2 months. It depends on how fine or thick your hair strands are.

If you dont want to alter your curls there are plenty of formaldehyde free treatments on the market.

I dont think you will experience any furhter damage.

I had 4 treatments. My curl pattern isn't gone entirely, but mt hair is 3a at the root where there is new growth and 2b at the bottom where it was treated. Now for someone with a stronger curl pattern this might not be as much of an issue, but I am definitely having to grow the effects out, you can even feel the difference in my hairs texture on the treated lengths (and this is despite having used sulphate washes, which apparently remover the treatment faster)

Except the changed curl pattern, do you feel like the treated part of your hair is in worst condition??

I dont know how this is possible.

Anyhow, it s not the tightness of the curls that determind how resistant will be your hair to permanent change. It has to do with thickness.
My natural hair is a mix of 2c and 3a curls but the hair strands are VERY thick, thus very resistant.
I can even keep loose curls after 2-3 weeks of treatment but I really like them wash&go straight so I BKT every 2-3 months.

No my hair is not in worse condition, its not in better condition either, but it has a different porosity. What I meant by my curl pattern comment was that having a permanently looser pattern may not be as big an issue for others.

Ultimately, I now have to grow out hair that is not my natural texture or pattern. It will take over a year for my hair to fully recover, and that's something people should bare in mind when getting a treatment.
