What are you eating now?

JosephineJosephine Posts: 14,175Registered Users
We have one for dinner and tv shows so I thought I'd start one just for food (anytime). Include pics if you can! I love food, I am one of those "annoying" people who posts pics of food and drinks on fb.

I just had breakfast - grits with butter and cheese and a buttered toasted croissant. Washed it down with OJ(oh so refreshing) and having coffee now. Guess I'm having a late lunch today. I feel satisfied, not too stuffed.

I'm chewing that new Extra Dessert Delights apple pie flavor gum!

I just finished eating a thinnish slice of a breakfast casserole I made: eggs, grated mozzarella, milk, baby spinach leaves, green onions, leftover baked chicken, a couple of seasoned waffle fries, a broken up English muffin, sea salt, black pepper and cayenne.

I had a cup of homemade split pea soup this morning and I'm drinking coffee. I'll probably eat some grapes soon.

I had flaxseed brownies (ugh-FAIL) with natural peanut butter (mmmm) for breakfast.

And I'm enjoying some cold-brewed extra-strong iced coffee right now (double yum!!)

oatmeal with pumpkin seeds and skim milk for breakfast and coffee (my very favorite food in the whole world).

Pizza and strawberry ice cream for lunch. Waiting to hear about biopsy; no appetite so only junky food will go down. Had tea afterward (they have lousy coffee in my office).

Didn't have time to make my green smoothie this morning, so a banana and a cup of coffee for breakfast. Romaine salad with mock ceasar dressing and tomato soup for lunch. Getting ready to eat another banana soon. Since lunch time I've been nursing a Arrowhead Sparkling water with lemon and vodka. Yes, I'm at work. Not having a good day today.....:sign6:

Went grocery shopping yesterday (after a while) and actually had breakfast at home today. One spicy french toast, half an avocado and Trader Joes OJ(I like it a lot better than the other brands). I didn't have a huge appetite this morning.
  • MunchyMunchy Posts: 5,206Registered Users Curl Neophyte
Last night I had zucchini "noodles" and a crumbled hot turkey sausage in a bit of cheesy sauce (adobo, flour, skim milk and colby jack).

Now I had split pea soup and I'm drinking coffee.

Zucchini noodles? That sounds good, is it like spaghetti squash?

Spicy french toast - for the batter it's how I usually would make my scrambled eggs or omelette -

Eggs, onions, cilantro, green chili pepper, salt. Today I added a tiny bit of milk(all I had was evaporated milk), but I can't tell the difference.

So basically instead of having toast with my eggs I just dip the toast in it and call it spicy french toast, lol.

ETA - I looked it up online, I guess my terminology is correct because there are other similar recipes. I got it from my mom so it is a common south asian thing.

I've started making the zucchini noodles. I bought a spiral vegetable slicer and it works great. Sure beats the high carbs and calories from pasta.

That french toast sounds amazing and I'm definitely trying that! I never liked french toast because it's sweet, so the bit of spice is right up my alley.

For the zucchini noodles it's basically peeler or mandolin shaved zucchini sauteed or steamed, then treated like pasta. I eat mine with homemade tomato sauce pretty often, and sometimes add in a teeny bit of cream cheese to make it pink.

Munchy, I make mine more in spirals like pasta and I have used basil pesto. I grow my own basil, so I'm always trying to find ways to use it.

This morning I am having a boiled egg and 2 slices of nitrate free bacon. I made my green smoothie, but it got stuck in my bullet, so I had to leave it in the frig.

Nothing exciting yet..and I am starving. I've already looked at the menu at Taco Mac to see what I'm getting later. Not a great place to eat but that's where we are watching the game. I'm thinking steak fajitas.

I am making my husband and 4 sons up pork chops some with bbq sauce and some with a herb rub and seasoned red potatoes. For myself I am having Trader Joes Harvest Grains blend cooked in vegetable broth and added a bag of Edamame to it ( I made enough to share with the guys if they want it as a side dish with their pork)

Leftovers from eating out at a Mexican restaurant last night...a whole deep fried avocado stuffed with chicken fajita meat and some kind of cheese/cheese sauce. It was breaded and rolled in panko breadcrumbs. Wow!
