color, condition, twist

hey ladies,

i've purchased the beautiful collection hair color (it's semi permanent, no ammonia, no peroxide)...i want to color, deep condition and twist my hair this weekend. what order should i do this? by the way, i'm no poo....i have the curlilicious cleansing cream and devacare no poo but i mostly do v05.

should i not deep condition the same time i color? i'm not sure if it'll pull the color right out especially since it's a semi perm color.

any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hi,

I'm sorry, I don't know.

I've only colored my hair once, with body-art quality henna. Henna is a deep conditioning treatment, so this wasn't an issue for me.


If you post this question in the 'coloring' section, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will answer.

Maybe 4-5 days before. DT's almost always interfere with color absorption for me. I have to go against my instincts and not use. A regular non-stripping conditioner after is fine.

Deep treatments will always pull your color out, specially a semi permanent one because it just coats your strands it doesnt permeate the cortex. So thats a no-no. I definitely recommend to do it before you color .

I was informed to AVOID protein deep treatments up to 2 weeks after a color session b/c any sooner it can make the color bleed.
