There must be something in the water

Last week I was in New Orleans, almost identical humidity and dew point to home, and I had perfect hair all week. I did my first wash since getting home this morning and my hair is a disaster, the curl is frizzy and limp, and just yuck.

I did exactly the same routine, so the only thing I can think has changed is the water. I just tested it though, and I have a ph of around 7.5, alkalinity of 40ppm, and hardness of around 100ppm, so I have relatively soft, acidic water, which should be great for my hair.

I had previous good results with acv rinse, which makes me wonder if there might be an additional additive in the water my hair isn't liking. Has anyone else come across this or have any suggestions (right now I'm thinking a final rinse in bottled water might help?)

Actually, 7.5 is slightly basic. ACV, lemon juice or a bottled water rinse might help. I'm not sure if there are any showerhead filters that claim to adjust pH but you might look into those too for a longterm solution.

So I've been thinking this through a little more, and I'm going to try adding acv to my conditioner to see if that helps, rather than me having to add an extra step to my routine.

    Has anyone else tried this?
