Caucasian twistout?

After having no luck braiding my hair to create more controllable waves, I have turned to overnight twist outs. While braids created weird and unatural looking waves, I attempted a twist out last night and woke up to beautiful natural looking waves.

This was wonderful however, I am looking for a way to better keep frizz away. I have watched multiple how-to videos on how to do a twist out affectively but many of the videos seem geared towards ethnic hair that doesn't resemble my own hair's texture.

Have any women with 2b/c hair done a twist out before? If so, what products did you use, if any, and how did it work for you?

In all honesty hair products should be about hair texture and not skin color. Most company's just slap a African woman's face on a bottle and claim it works just for them.

To reduce frizz when you take down the twists apply a little bit of oil to your hands.

Keep in mind that ingredients make up products and ingredients aren't geared towards anyone. Products are always targeted to X group but remember that it's just marketing. Even products marketed for curly hair...aside from a few moisturizing agents, they aren't much different than those targeted for straight.

I agree to use a little oil or a non-waterbased cream to undo the twists. Also sleeping with a satin/silk scarf (or pillowcase) will reduce flyaways greatly.

I agree with the previous posters. Also make sure that twists are 100% dry when you take them down or they will frizz.

I have 3a hair and I'd love to do twist outs but my problem is that while they look great 3/4 of the way down, they don't stay twisted (or braided) at the bottom. Should I use more gel? The bottom gets all frizzy and messy.

Please chime in if you have a suggestion.
    2/c Coarse hair med. density.
    Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

Use a little bit more gel towards your ends and be very gentle when you undo the twist.

Yes use more gel also try twirling the ends of your hair around your finger to create a spiral

I have 3b/3c hair, am Caucasian and I've been able to make the twist out work, though I have had mixed results based on big or small I make my twists. I really just use my same old leave in conditioners and gel when doing it.

I find that if I focus on making my hair smooth before twisting -- meaning taking a section if hair, smoothing the product on and perhaps even combing it through my hair -- I get less frizz when I take my twists out.
