Thanks for the pic. I was just thinking someone needs to post one. :) Now do the clips intertwine one another? I’ll definitely have to practice on dry hair first. I do love me some root volume since mine is always sooo flat. ugh

When I do it, one clip is sort of holding the hair, and the 2nd clip is holding that clip up and in place. (There is some hair in the 2nd clip, though.)

So yes, the two clips are clipped to each other!

Did this again today, and it went even better! I do hate how hair gets caught in the top of the clip sometimes when I go toe remove it, but as long as I'm careful that problem is minimal.

Really liking this method so far! Still need some practice, but I think this is a keeper!

Yes, they cinch in the middle. Like an X. It shows it in the video. :p Jas, I'm glad it's working for ya. How are your curls today? Did they make a comeback or is the wacky dew point still giving you trouble?

Hey, Dusa! Today they are pretty good, I guess. Thanks for asking! Been sticking to co-washing lately, think I may have been dry. Somehow.

Oh, it's the same for me! I've been cowashing straight for almost two weeks I think. My hair needs it. It's the sun beating down on it that dries out the hair, I'm speculating. I notice every time I go out for extended periods of time my hair gets dryer. I think this may be true even if you live in a more humid climate. Maybe it's our high porosity?

I'm sure the porosity doesn't help. It never does! Lol!

When it's hot and I'll be in the sun a lot I like sealing with EVCO and MO. The EVCO stays liquidy when it's hot, and my hair looks and feels more moisturized. The MO does its usual magic. ;). Sometimes I use both oils, sometimes one or the other.

It will be interesting to see how the cross clipping technique holds up to high dews and long exposure to them and the wind!

Try practicing in the air maybe? Take two clips, hold them out in front of you, and imagine capturing a bit of hair in each when you open them up and then cross them together and clip. One fluid motion. Zig and a zag.

I just had to pop back in and say THANK YOU for this tip!! I hold the clips above my hair and move my hands together to get the hang of where they should go, and then I move them down into my part to do the actual clipping. It really helps!

I add EVCO to my leave in sometimes. I love coconut oil. It's liquid (or solid, hahaha) magic. I think next to avocado, those are my two faves. Although I haven't tried avocado yet as a leave in or sealer. I figure since it really penetrates the hair shaft it might not be as effective since I need more of a barrier, right? I don't feel the need to try mineral oil yet because it's never humid here but I do have it in mind if I take a trip somewhere more humid like Florida. Or Texas. It's a little frightening to think of how my hair might react in the humidity. It honestly gives me a shiver.

Oh yay! Yes, I'm so pleased it worked for you as well because that's exactly how I cross clip my hair, hovering over the crown, down and in, capturing teeny bits of hair along the way. I think that's what it shows in the video too although I haven't watched it in a while.

MO works for me in both high and low dews bc it makes such a good barrier. I have no problems co-washing it, but I do low poo every now and then, so that could play in.

EVCO penetrates, too, but I find it works when it's warm out! ;)

I hear you on worrying about hair reacting to travel! I'm heading to England for 2 weeks and I have no clue what exactly to pack or how it will react!!
Will definitely be packing a lot of hair ties and headbands! Lol!

I definitely will be packing my duckbill clips so I can cross clip!! ;)

Hmmm, maybe I will give it a go then. The stronger the barrier, the more predictable the hair. At least you're going in the Summer, not the Winter. I'm jealous. I'd so much rather visit England than Texas or Florida. Oh man, I'd buy myself a fabulous hat to ensure I'd look very glamorous in vacation photos. . .
