Need some Devacurl alternatives

Hi ladies! I just started using the Devacurl products and love my hair when I use a TON of gel. But, it's so expensive that I keep trying to cut back on the amount I use with no success. Does anyone have any good dupes for One condition, B'leave in, Ultra Gel & Set it Free? Also, reading about CurlyGirl method, it seems like they recommend cowashing with conditioner and not using Shampoo. This then leaves me confused as to the nopoo product. does anyone know the rational for nopoo? Thanks so much on advance, I'm just trying to learn all I can. :)

I can't help you with dupes (I like Deva stuff too). But, the no poo would be comparable to a cleansing conditioner. It conditions but also has gentle cleansers that don't dry your hair out. No poos and poos with gentle (non sulfate) cleansers are considered curly girl friendly.

Yes to Carrots Pampering Conditioner has a lot of the similar ingredients as DevaCurl One Condition! It has a lotion-y smell but it's not bad. It works very much like the DevaCurl too, I have found.

I have yet to find gels that work just like the ultra gel but I used the Mega mega Hold LA Looks gel and liked that one. And I don't know any alternatives for the others but I use Cure Care for a leave in and I like it a lot. It's my new staple. About $9 for a gallon of it at Sally's. I have a bunch of conditioners I rotate between for rinse out though. GVP Conditioning Balm is a new favorite rinse out though. Smells great.

You might try Nature's Gate Lavender and Aloe Conditioner in place of One Condition.

I like the Ultra Defining Gel, but agree that you need to use a lot. Since it doesn't work for you when you don't use a lot, make the most of what you've invested in it, and use it the way it works; otherwise you're going to feel gipped out of the cost. That said, I also like Kiss My Face Upper Management. It's quite a bit cheaper. You don't need as much. It's also cruelty free and vegan. I also like KCCC, but I don't think you want to go there, considering the cost, and KMFUM is a good alternative to that.

I don't know of anything that's like B'Leave In. I've been using it for over four and a half years, and don't intend to stop, as long as I have a choice. I mix it with my gel before applying, and squish them in together.

I can't stand Set It Free, so no suggestions there.

I like homemade flax seed gel mixed with either BRHG or LAL gel. Its cheap to make and you can use as much as you want thought your hair feeling like its too much.

that was always one of the problems with deva products, you literally have to use a ton of them. i don't like the newer formulations so i've switched. i mostly use curl junkie, which seems like it is more expensive, but you use a small fraction of the amount of product.
also, both deva and curl junkie products are sold on aveyou.com. they always have one or two coupon codes going. i think the current ones are
    FIVE -- 15% any amount.
    BEAUTY25 -- $25 off $100 & over.

shipping is always flat rate $5 for below $50, $1 for over. their turnaround is quick and their customer service is great.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(
