Frizzy puffy hair-nothing is working

Hi, I'm a 2b who used to have curly hair whose waves just won't behave.
I know curls/waves need moisture, and I'm trying my best, but it seems to just make my hair flatter, not less poofy and lifeless at the same time. I guess I would describe my hair as thick in the sense that I have a lot of it, but very fine. It takes hours to straighten, and we won't even talk about what happens when I blowdry/diffuse it. I sleep on a satin pillowcase, NEVER towel dry, and deep condition it weekly or more.
I've tried pretty much every deep conditioning treatment anyone's ever heard of, as well several protein treatments(it worked for a day and gave me defined curls, but now it does nothing). I tried CG but my hair is much too oily.
I'm not really sure how to explain my problem fully, but basically my hair is frizzy and poofy unless I moisturize the hell out of it, and then its lifeless.
THANK YOU so much to anyone who takes the time to read this-anything at all helps.

I tried a bunch of different types of mousse but they never did anything to define my curls, leave my hair crunchy, and they really cant do much for frizz in the constant humidity of san Francisco. Gel mostly makes my hair looks crunchy. I've used a few serums but none of them help my frizz. I'm open to recommendations if you think there might be something that could help.

What type of shampoo are you using?

The thing my hair loved the most was aloe vera gel. I put on a ton and it just eats it up and helps it to stay moisturized.
My hair is insane, porous, fine, thick/dense, 2C/3A depending on the humidity that day.
shampoo: L'Oreal Sulfate free stuff sometimes
    co-wash: Suave Naturals coconut
    condish: GVP conditioning balm
leave in: Will try Tresemme Naturals volume (as if I need volume)
    products:
honey, FOTE AVG=my HG, Noodle Head mousse, HETT

I'm in constant humidity too and am finding with my loose waves the best thing I can do is aim for beachy rather than curls. They really need the curl cream and gel for definition though, even if I just use a little. I thing everyone gets crunch with gel, but you can scrunch that out once your hair is dry.

I agree a product would really help define and hold your waves. The mousse I'm really in love with is moroccan oil curl mousse. It's a light to medium hold, very little crunch, but really helps define my waves. Ooh and it's moisturizing too! So different from any other mousse I've tried.

Your hair is a very pretty blonde. I hope this doesn't sound rude but is it natural? Im wondering because lightening hair especially with bleach but even without it van cause yout curls to behave that way as well.

It almost sounds like it might be over conditioned...do you strictly cowash or do u low poo? Use sulfates? You might want to try some protein for balance. Maybe not a PT since you said that doesn't work, but maybe incorporate protein into your condishes and/or products.

I think using styling products would help out a lot. And as weird as it sounds, your hair might be overconditioned. I say that because of how poofy it is and that the protein treatment worked, even if it was only for a day.

Not sure what products you are using for shampoo and conditioner, but you might want to use products with protein in them. Something you can use every day but that won't totally dry out your hair like daily deep protein treatments might. I don't use protein in my shampoo etc but I do use this lightweight leave in spray a few times per week to perk them up. It is Spiral Solutions Leave In Protein Spray. Strength & Shine Leave-in Protein Spray It gives me a nice daily dose that I can control.

You might also want to use styling products that have humectants to help with the humidity issue. We get some seriously humid weather in the summer with dew points in the 70s. I found curl keeper to be VERY helpful in that sort of weather. It's a lightweight serum. I also use As I Am Curling Jelly (found at Sally's), which provides hold and definition without being super crunchy like gels can be. Another jelly you might look into is Kinky Curly Curling Custard (can usually find this at Target).

You could also look into creams. Right now i am using AG Re:Coil (found at Ulta) and Organix renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Curling Perfection Cream (found at drug stores).
