The Today show's makeover segment

A curly woman with bra length hair went in for a makeover. She came out with shoulder length straight hair. The stylist had the nerve to end his chat about her new look with, "...and she can still wear it curly on the weekend." um...either his technique didn't take her curly hair into account or he's another one who believes curly hair doesn't have a place in the office. Thoughts?

I really believe that most stylists are completely unable to style curly hair other than straight!

Maybe he thinks that curly is too wild for the office???

I have 3B ish hair. A zillion years ago, I had it styled straight and wore it to work as such. My coworkers did NOT like it. One summed it up by saying, even though your hair is straight, it doesn't move right. Almost like it is unhappy. Like it is a wig!
That was the last time that I did that :)
Growing out a pixie (last big cut July 2012)
    3a? 3b? Fine, dense. Porous.
    Finally sulfate free. Avoiding silicones.

My mom seems to have this idea that having wavy/curly hair is unacceptable for professional settings. For the past few days, I've been experimenting with some new hair products that define the waves in my hair, and she thought it looked wet, dirty, and bad -_-
