Is brushing really thaaat bad?

I'm getting lazy. I have no patience to style my hair every day. All I want to do is take a shower, comb my hair, go to bed, wake up, comb again, and walk out the door. It does take a lot of the curl pattern out. It goes from a 2c to straight but with nice body and volume and some wave at the end. I think it looks fine. Admittedly I like it better when I style it curly annnnd it turns out good, but for the majority of the time when it doesn't look good, brushing it looks way better. Plus it feels better. No unnecessary product-y feeling. Plus it looks better in a pony tail this way. I wanna grow out my hair. I cut it shoulder length not too long ago, it's now a few inches below my shoulders. Is this gonna make it harder to grow by breaking the ends more? Cause that'd suck.

If you are not getting frizz by brushing your hair, then I would not think you would have to worry about breakage. I thought the only reason curlies don't like to brush is because it can cause frizz.

I mostly don't brush because I have baby fine hair and that breaks it. If I'm combing it, it is gently with a wide-toothed comb. I do comb it to put it up. I think it's an issue with fragility, which many curlies have?

I'm gonna go with "no"....it's not that bad. For me, brushing my hair usually means pyramid head, but sometimes I get extremely frustrated with my hair...and if I brush vewy, vewy gently LOL it can look nice. Soft, flowy waves with tolerable frizz. I think wavies can get away with it better than curlies, though. Gently and not too often is the key, I think. Whatever makes me feel :toothy4: about my hair for the day. No guilt. :thumbleft:
