Help, front of my hair frizzes!

Okay guys, well recently i have found that styling my hair the night before with mousse and curl cream and then sleeping with it above the pillow really works. it leaves my hair really soft. however i kind of have a problem. at the end of the day the front of my hair frizzes out. it's because it's shorter, therefore springs up more so by the end of the day, it's a little crazy by my standards.

the thing is, even though i apply a lot of mousse, it still doesnt seem to hold very well. sooooo would it be an option to go for a mixture of mousse and gel? i guess the fact that i sleep on my hair overnight means all the crunch gets crunched out so its left exposed to all the elements. how do i stop my front bits frizzing?!
