Right now I cowash. Should i add lowpoo or nopoo? How often?
2b/2c, Med density, Med Porosity, Fine/Med width, Med length, layers start below ears. Just my shot in the dark for my hair properties. Growing out bleached highlights Fall 2012, growing out dyed hair March 2013. Makes for a confusing mix of properties. Learning how different processes affect hair properties. Using lot of drugstore products right now. Determining what's right for my hair in my climate. Pittsburgh has a little bit of everything weather wise. Modified CGM since March 2013.

It all depends on how your hair feels. If your hair starts to feel heavy or gunky, then add a low-poo. If you're happy with co-washing, then feel free to stick to that. There are no hard and fast rules for frequency of various cleansing methods- that really comes down to personal preference.

I'm a 2, but my hair is fine, so I lo-poo. No-poo left my hair flat and gunky-feeling.

I agree with Corrina: do what works for you.

Most wavies low poo, more often than 3s or 4s. Drives me crazy when people say curl pattern doesn't matter at all, it does need to be taken into consideration with the whole picture. I low poo every 4 days.

Do both! I have 2C/3A hair that is baby fine and low porosity. I wash with a "low-poo" style shampoo bar 2-3 times per week. The rest of the time, I co-wash. I let my hair be my guide, and whenever it starts looking lank (it is easily overmoisturized) I wash it the next morning. Lately that's happened more often - I used to wash about once a week. I'm doing a PT (protein treatment) this weekend to remedy the overmoisturized situation.

I "wash" my hair twice a week. In the winter, I low poo once a week and cowash once a week. In the summer, I low poo each time.
