My hair seems to crave both proteins and moisture, but my kids hair still seems to be a mystery.

Both have pretty dry hair but the L'Oriel curl line seems to work on my daughter, but not enough moisture for my son (she is 5yrs (2a) and he is 22mo (3a)).

Last night I tried my Shea Moisture Curl Poo on both and my sons hair felt smoother (but still needed a slip condition) and my daughters hair felt like straw.

I heard silk protein is supposed to be one of the gentle ones, so if it gave her straw hair does that mean we should avoid all proteins?

Maybe, does the L'Oreal Curl line contain protein? Try to note where these ingredients are located on the ingredient list too, sometimes it's the quantity of it that creates the issue.
