Traveling to Hot and Dry Israel, Tips?

The traveling threads I've found on here ask for advice when going from a dry climate to a humid one. I'm doing the opposite.

In May, I'm embarking on a 10-day trip to Israel (the good ol' birthright trip), and I know the climate is dry and hot. I live in San Francisco, where it's often humid and cold. That means I rarely follow other's switch to lighter products in the summer since we don't really have a summer in San Francisco.

Any tips on what types of products I should bring? In case you can't see my siggie, I have fine, normal porosity hair and no problems with protein.

Any good packing advice? I plan to check my bags, but in case I must carry-on, I am freaking out about getting 10 days' worth of product into a TSA-approved quart bag.

And for anyone who's already done the birthright trip, any general advice?

Thanks guys!

I've been to Israel for months on end and it is rarely dry, usually quite a bit of humidity. I use the same products I use at home, always wear a sunhat, and if you have a safe style to put your hair up you won't need as much product as you expect. I have been able to wash, condition and air dry my hair twice a week with this plan. The Birthright trips are power packed and you will not have time to primp, so have a simplified grooming plan, a hat, sunglasses, and some scrunchies! and sunscreen! and sunscreen for lips! Have a wonderful time!

Thanks for the advice. I assumed desert = dry, but I'll pack for the humidity.

I've been to Israel too! I also found that it wasn't very dry, except for in the Negev, but it was so hot throughout, I wore my hair in a pony tail to keep it away from my face. Honestly, I would just bring your HGs because they will probably still work pretty well. Have a great time!
