Does it matter WHEN you exercise/workout?

I've always gone with the 'no as long as you do it' answer and gone for evening because I am a horrendous morning person..but does it really matter than much?

Working out in the morning jump starts your metabolism and gives you an energy boost for your day. But it's better to work out in the evening than not at all.

I think every person's different so whatever works for you is the best time of the day. I can't workout in the morning. I don't have any trouble getting out of bed wide awake but actually working out? No, I feel like I'm going to pass out so it ain't gonna happen. My best time is around 1pm actually but I never seem to be able to do that anymore.

I'm the same. I refuse to get up to go to the gym at 6am. And I don't have the time to go before work.

Also, working out in the morning doesn't 'jump start' you metabolism. Your metabolism is always working at pretty much the same rate otherwise you'd be dead. Working out in the morning might make you feel more energised. But them it might make you tired.
Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.

I can't work out first thing in the morning. I tried for a bit, made me feel horrible. On days I have to get up early I might work out as early as 10 am, but usually I start at 11am-noonish. I might go as late as 2 or 3 in the afternoon. If I don't get it done by 3, I don't bother. I get too busy after the kids get home then by the time I'm free, I'm too tired.

Thank you for this guys! I feel muchhjh less guilty for working out in the evening instead now!

The 'working out in the morning boosts your metabolism' myth isn't true then?

Regardless of what time you work out you continue to burn calories more effectively afterwards. It's called the afterburn. That's what I meant be jump starting your metabolism.
