A Little Help With Stretched Hairstyles Please.

Hello naturals, I'm hoping you all can lend me a hand today.
My hair has gotten a lot longer since I did my BC, it averages around 6/half inches, maybe seven in it's longest areas, so I definitely want to start wearing it down more.

I've finally found a stretching method that works for me (band my hair, or put it in a ponytail until it's mostly curl free, then two-stand twist and use curlformers to keep it stretched.) But there are two main issues I've run into.

1.) Frizziness! It'll look all beautiful and lovely and then a few hours later, SHRINK'N POOF. I haven't really experimented with frizz defying gels or creams, etc. In your experience do they work, and do you have any recommendations?

2.) Also maintaining the style has been impossible for me, if I put it up in a bun on top, it won't lay down again, and if I can manage to make it lay down the downside is I've done so much to it that it's poofy and frizzier than it was before.

I'm becoming frustrated but trying my best to remain positive and keep trying. I feel like my biggest challenge right now is length because bantu knots don't look as good as it did when my hair was shorter, but longer styles don't have enough weight to stay long!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is ur objective length? What styles do u usually wear? I have found stretching w a low bun is most effective in maintaining my twist-out or Bantu knot-out and aiding in length. I will use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, Shea moisture curling soufflé, or kinky curly curling custard when I do my original styles (twists, Bantu knots, etc.) and it minimizes frizz and puffiness. Definitely keep manipulation low of u want to minimize frizz and puff but I kinda like it that way :-P
