I plan on creating a blog featuring them and their products (once I try them out of course) & need some companies to participate. I've been in contact with atleast 5 already.

Have you contacted Blensblends.com? I haven't tried the products yet but I've ordered some. She was lovely to deal with. She has amazing hair too (she's 1ballerina on Youtube)
Tresemme Naturals Radiant Care is my boring but trustworthy fallback :glasses1:
Acid rinse (Dr Bronner's Shikakai) stripped my over-a-year-old indigo, and gave me split ends I haven't had since I gave up brushing :pukeright:
Hair analysis done - surprisingly, I'm normal on all 3 counts :-?

Chagrin Valley Soap and Salve. Their shampoo bars aren't for everyone, but my hair loves them. Their soap also cleared/calmed my skin when nothing else would. I love and use many of their products, so I'm very biased!

bosanbo, does Chagrin Valley have only soap bars as far as cleansers go? Would you please share what cleanser you are using? My facial skin is a disaster with itchy red rash in certain areas. I'm trying to cut out all skincare with "actives" for a dew weeks to see if my face will calm down.

I thought a "soap bar" was out of the question for my face, but CV makes super-fatted soaps and my friend at Andrea the Chemist gave me a long explanation of how gentle those are.

I got three samples (at $2.70 a pop): Rhassoul Clay/Yogurt, Rose and Clay, and Fig. The Rhassoul cleared up my angry breakouts post-medication when nothing else would. I use all three right now, one per week, still trying to decide which I like best. The fact that I'm trying to choose is a miracle! Normally I find one thing that works and cling to it. I like the rose because it is very gentle. I'm not using their most moisturizing face soaps, just the ones that sounded best for my combo/sensitive skin.

They make a buttery, non-bar cleanser that a lot of customers seem to like. My skin isn't very dry, just sensitive, so the sample made me feel pretty... moist. I like the soaps better. I also use their Sea Salt one on my body, which has cleared up some breakouts, and Aloe, Aloe, Aloe, which is very nice.

I wash my hair about once a week with the Chestnut Henna bar. It hasn't done anything to my color, but I like the texture and body it gives my hair. And again, no scalp breakouts, which is fantastic.

I'm still using my $2.70 sample bars after a month. They last a long time! I also use their squalene eye mousse, after struggling with red bumps and no visible effects from other eye creams. I mix it with aloe gel and put it on my face, as well. I sort of want a giant tub to sit in...

I sound like a giant fangirl, I know, but after 30 years of being sensitive to perfumes, chemicals, and then suddenly being even more sensitive to most body care products, it was a huge relief to find something that was CHEAP and worked. I thought I was going to have to spend big bucks to feel and look better, but I really didn't.

New kid on the block for flaxseed and okra gels is Sweet Curl Elixirs who will lbe opening an Etsy soon
Also a new hair analysis service on Etsy
Pedaheh's Hair Blog: GoosefootPrints Hair Analysis with My Analysis Results

Both ladies are members here on NC and on the Wavy Hair Community on Facebook. Botticelli Botanicals got shut down by Etsy.

I also rate Komaza Care for the blend of science and nature

Why did Boticelli Botanicals get shut down on Etsy?

I see Pedaheh's link, but was the original hair analysis person on Etsy too? I can't remember. And I'm tempted to try the analysis to see if I can cut down on expensive products and get better looking hair.

    Thanks.

Apparently BB stopped responding to messages, started sending products out weeks late, then not sending products at all nor refunding money. At least one person lost their money by not opening a case with Paypal in time; so people complained to Etsy and they closed the store. It's all rather strange and quite sad, she could have put her store into 'holiday mode' instead of keeping taking orders, customers then would have waited on her getting sorted since she has given good service in the past. There is a thread on it on the general board if you want to hunt it down.

Other hair analysis services are Live Curly Live Free (v basic, cheap) and Komaza Care (v detailed, pricey). I'm definitely having the analysis done, my inner geek is completely excited by microscope photographs of my hair, how sad am I??!!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that is sad about BB -- she seemed to be doing well when she used to post on here (if it's the same person I am thinking of).

Is it LCLF that offers some product suggestions also (I thought one of them did, and I saw that GoosefootPrints said they don't)? I've sort of ruled out Komaza due to their limited supply not always jiving with when I have the funds/desire to do it.

Komaza Care is pretty pricey, I used to suggest it until they put the price up - now there is a cheaper alternative that also uses microscopy it's a no brainer to recommend that one.

Live Curly Live Free don't do product suggestions AFAIK, that is Komaza Care I think. Goosefootprints might suggest ingredients if you ask, it's IAGirl who is 'famous' for the gelatin treatment so she knows about formulation.

Can you recommend a top 2, that you would use if you were doing it. I don't have a link to IAGirl.

Hands down I would use the Goosefootprints on Etsy (username here on NC is IAgirl, linked to from the Pedaheh blog I already posted). I can't link directly to the Etsy store because it's against forum rules.

I've seen a couple of the Goosefootprints reports on the Wavy Hair Community and they are detailed and clear with plenty of microscope photos. I rate Komaza Care products and their hair analysis is supposed to be very good but it's much more expensive so I wouldn't use it now Goosefootprints is in business, what they do extra is a telephone consultation.

Many thanks! I was looking at LCLF analysis today. I am going to try to compare what the 2 offer vs price.

Do you know if the samples of hair are supposed to be shed hairs (caught during the course of the day) or should they be from brush or comb? And do they have to be all collected on the same day? Sorry for all the questions. I could ask the merchants!!!

AFAIK Live Curly Live Free is fairly basic, and I suspect it's a manual/ visual inspection because someone on here said hers was done on her head!

Komaza Care ask for one session's worth of clean shed hair from washing, so no product residues. Goosefootprints has guidance on the Etsy page but I think it doesn't matter you can cut if you prefer, unless you specially want her to look at your shed hair/ root area. I do and will, I feel I am naturally shedding too many hairs with pointy tips (are they breakage or worn or short terminal length?).

I wouldn't use old combed hair only fairly 'fresh', hair dries out over time and that could give false readings for elasticity and porosity.
