First ever Deva Cut

First, I have been natural since Feb. of 2012. The only times I would get my hair cut was by straightening and letting the stylist cut it that way. As every curly girl knows, cutting your hair straight, brings completely different results when curly. I have done it that way for a few times until I finally decided to get a deva cut. Yesterday I finally went for my first ever deva cut. I live in CT, so I thought finding a place would be extremely difficult. However, in South Windsor, CT, a salon: Style Points offered deva cuts.

My stylist, Brittany was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable. She walked me through the entire process and even gave me tips. She first cut my hair dry in its complete natural state, no product what-so-ever. Talk about poof. However, she listened to what I wanted and cut my curls to each desired position. She then washed with the deva low poo and then finger combed my hair with the conditioner. Afterwards, she used the gel and scrunched it through. I sat in the hair dryer for a few minutes. Afterwards, she diffused the bottom layers of my hair. The results almost made me cry. What I was seeing was something I thought would never happen. I saw my TRUE curls. It was so fresh, clean, and soft. I am so happy I got my cut. I am posting a before and after pic so all you curly girls can see the difference and how much a simple cut for your curls can change everything (positively)!

If anyone has any questions please feel free to message or comment. I know some curlies are nervous about deva cuts (if they are considering it). I was so nervous I was shaking! But my stylist made me feel comfortable and the results make me wonder why I was nervous to begin with! I am so happy.

Hi, if I may ask how what was the cost of your cut? I am interested in going to the same stylist.

It was expensive, but I paid $90. Definitely well worth it, but for trims I will have to find someone a little cheaper. But for the first time, I was more than happy to go a little extra.
