Hair breaking while pg?

Hi there! I tried posting this in the main forum but no one responded, so trying here:

I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and mostly my hair is loving it. (It's thicker, softer, and has gone from being 3b to more like 3a -- which is a fun change. Also, almost NONE of it ever falls out anymore when I cowash. I never brush, so never had that problem.) But I'm getting a lot of breakage around my hairline, too.

I don't pull the hair back tight or do anything harsh to it. (I'm totally CG, never use metal barrettes or elastics, anything like that.) I'm wondering: Do I just need to add extra protein to my routine? Or get some long, sideswept bangs cut in? (Hair is BSL.)

Any advice much appreciated!

Styling: Deva Coconut Supercream or their Wave Maker with a little CS over the top

Is it breakage or new growth? Short hairs are sometimes hard to tell. Hair tends to fall out a lot less when your pregnant and grows faster. Are the ends broken or do they taper off? The latter would be new growth.

I say go for it. Just get them cut long enough so you can pull them back with barrettes or bobbypins incase you don't like them. The best part is that your hair will grow superfast and it would be no time to grow them back out.
