Advise needed

Since starting cg my hair has become curlier. Now I have a really annoying problem I need help with . If I let my hair clump the way it wants to it turns into spirals/coils, very pretty but only 15 on my whole head! Looks like a style out of the 19th century. If I separate them I have a big head of frizz. They get tighter as the days go on and if I don't wash I would have locs going by day three ( nothing against them just not for me)
If I brush after applying leave in or cream I don't get clumps more like stringy ramen hair?
Does anybody have some advise for me on how I can change my routine to stop the spirals but not end up stringy? If I'm hyper critical let me know.
Second pic hair brushed after leave in stringy curls dry,* first pic spiral almost dry

    First - stop brushing.

Other than that I suggest raking your product in and not encouraging the clumping. Allow your hair to dry then gently shake out the curls at the roots - bend at the waist so your hair falls forward, slip your fingers into your hair at the roots, and shuffle the hair a little.

There is a recent thread here somewhere about not encouraging clumping. Maybe there will be additional ideas there for you.

    Your hair is very pretty.
remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!! :read2:
    My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
    My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
    RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
    LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

    Thanks for your reply.
If I don't use my tangle teezer and rake the products in I get those spirals ( I think the thread you suggested gave me the idea with the brush ), I will try a wide tooth comb next and a different leave in.
I do the bend and shake but it will not seperate the spirals :sad5:

Wow pattern twin! My hair does the exact same thing. Each day they get tighter too. I honestly wear my hair both ways. I like your hair in both pictures. Sometimes I let the sausage curls stay, sometimes I use a wide tooth comb to gently separate them, and sometimes I comb out, rewet, mousse and diffuse for the smaller but more voluminous curls.

Your hair looks great both ways!
I love the term sausage curls! That's exactly what they look like.
Maybe I am being my worst critic and I just stay with the more volume smaller clumps ( otherwise I look just like Nelli from "little house on the prairie" :), I just don't have enough hair to pull it off like you.
To bad we are not hair twins, but pattern twin is cool too!

I really like your stringy hair too.... Doesn't look stringy at all. I think you might just be comparing it to your sausage curls too much. :)

I agree! The "stringy" look looks really full and vibrant to me. The "sausage curls" are cute, too. ;)
