Curly with Bangs?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forums and i have a question about curly hair with bangs..I would say im a 3A hair or maybe a two im not sure the pic can tell you. Anyway i have had the same hairstyle for over 15 years and im hitting a milestone birthday soon and wanted to try something different. I usually color so i thought i could try bangs to change my style up. I know i would have to straighten my bangs to get them to work and im ok with that but does anything think this look would work for me? Also should i have the bangs styled a certain way? Anyone on here with curly hair and straight bangs? Would it look weird? Thanks for your imput.

Tricia

Lots of talk about bangs lately. I think straight bangs would be okay with wavy hair but iffy with curlier. Have you tried parting to the side and styling them sideswept? That can put a new spin on your do without having to get your bangs cut if you're unwilling to commit.

That's a tough call. I am finally growing my bangs out. My hair is not as curly as yours. But I would blowdry them over a round brush, tease a little, and hairspray. So 90's. But it was all I could figure out to do with them. And then I had to hope the humidity wouldn't get to them and make them do weird things. And if I didn't style them, my bangs would split in the middle and curve into the center, forming an upside down heart on my forehead. So I guess my point is you will have more styling issues to make your bangs look good.

Is your hair layered at all? Maybe you could try some shorter, face-framing layers as a test.

thank you both for your response. I decided to do a side swept bang not to severe but its noticable and i love it! I've gotten many compliments so far. I am thinking of adding layers in the spring to change it up more. I can't wait :chef:

I love layers. I got them put in a few weeks ago and there an immediate difference. My hair just felt so much lighter and it has more body on the top as opposed to the bottom. I'm sure you look great sideswept. It's a fringe that flatters most and it always looks so come hither. :cyclopsani:
