New here. Looking for some guidance.
Hey, so I was looking for some product for my hair (totally ignorant to what's going on up there), and came across this board and figured I would seek advice.
A little background, I'm mixed, Black dad, white mom. As a child I had curly hair, then started wearing it buzzed around middle school.
In 2007 on a dare I grew it out, and kinda liked it. The first pic below has been lightened to show the hair, sorry I don't have any better pics of it, but it's almost to the below stage currently.

but it got out of control so I chopped it off.

I'm in the process of growing it out again and I wanna have it as nice as possible but I don't know what to do with it. The fro got lots of attention, but I don't want it that big again, and braids don't tend to stay in my hair (I don't know why).
It mats to my head at night, and I don't know what kind of shampoo or conditioner I should be using. Also not sure of what type of hair I'm working with.
HELP!!

Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift :flower:
This site has soooo much advice. You don't have to just stay stuck in the men's area.
Your hair might not hold styles because despite the amount of hair you have it may be relatively fine. Mine is similar. Good luck!

I was looking at the TRESemme Naturals and discovered it's actually a line of products. Which specific ones do you recommend using?
