Double plopping! I love it! Anyone else tried?

Hi curly galz and guys!

My hair loves plopping and my drying time is looong. A few weeks ago me and some others here discussed that plopping too long has averse effects for most people (ruins curls, increases drying time). My theory is that that happens because the cloth gets too wet, and the water goes back into the hair somehow... or something like that. :P

So yesterday I decided to try something new. After plopping for about 15-20 minutes I grabbed a NEW, completely dry cloth and plopped again. Same amount of time.

Afterwards I removed the cloth and my curls were more defined than usual!!! Also drying time was way shorter than when I plop the normal way! I really like this, will definitely do this more often.

I dunno if it would work for everyone, but I think it's worth a try especially when you have long drying time like me!

Note: I use cotton cloths for plopping

I've found double plopping to work better too. I wash at night so if my hair isn't at least mostly dry it will still be damp in the morning. I recently began letting my hair air dry some between the plops too, I haven't got the timing down yet but 20-30 mins works okay. I've also tried plopping my hair behind my head for the second plop rather than on top. I'm getting more end 'curl' and volume this way (I'm wavy so 'curl' is relative). I haven't managed to get all my nice curl and volume to last through the next day yet but I don't like producty hair so it's a trade off. I'm using flour sack cloths from target, 4 for $5.

I've been wondering lately if the effectiveness of the plopping decreases as the cloth gets saturated with water. I only have one cloth though so I need to buy another, but I definitely want to try switching them after one gets too wet. Hmmmmmmm
