The boards DO NOT WORK

NetGNetG Posts: 8,116Registered Users
As questions about if anything is being done to change the fact ads keep the site from working are being ignored in other threads, I thought I would start a thread and see if anyone will respond.

Your site keeps crashing computers and makes it impossible to actually read threads because your ads keep downloading over and over. They overuse bandwidth so it costs us.

You have destroyed what was once a tight community here by having a non-functioning website for a very long time, and most users appear to only be on the boards if they can get on through their phones. Are there any plans to repair the lack of functionality on the boards, or should we all just write off naturallycurly.com altogether?

    ^ ditto.
--NC freezes up my laptops at home and at work at least once a day and I have to restart and reopen everything I had open or was working on. It is the only website that does this.
--The pages jump around when the curly guru and trending topics open. I have no idea how these things create revenue. Can't imagine anyone clicks on them. They seem like spam.
--Almost every day I can't "like" things and get error messages.
--It's a shame. I used to spend time on the NC home pages and money at Curlmart but don't even bother looking anymore. Even with an ad blocker it's just too busy and hard to look at.
    --I'm located in Western PA.
--I found NC in late 2004, CG since February 2005, started going grey in late 2005.
--My hair is 3B with some 3A, texture-medium/fine, porosity-normal except for the ends which are porous, elasticity-normal.
--My long time favorite products are Suave & VO5 conditioners, LA Looks Sport Gel, oils, honey, vinegar.

I agree with jeep and NetG. It's been bad for quite a while now, but its been especially bad - and slow - today. I've had to shut down and restart several times today, and that's only been when I've had NC.com open.

I've had an ongoing problem loading the site. Its near impossible on my phone and tedious to say the least on my work computer.

It makes me reconsider whether I want to bother coming to the site or not.

    Please fix this.

Mix of 3s, thick, coarse, medium porosity

Current hair styling technique: rake with a scrunch at the end. (works with my coarse hair)

    Hi y'all --

Just called a meeting to address this. I can't speak for the past, but moving forward, I'm definitely suggesting that Curly Gurus gotta go. It's a start...
This will require major conversations across different teams (ad team, me as community manager communicating your feedback, the tech team, etc)

I will keep you all posted, more than likely through an announcement at the top of the boards, because there are multiple threads about this. I'd rather keep the convo in one place.

    Thanks for all your feedback

^ I would 'like' your post, but NC won't let me!
    But thanks!
