12 days! Starts Wed, 2/13. I'm still not sure on the fans/favs thing but we'll see...

Malcolm, yay! Crazy Phillip & Francesca together again? Yikes! AND, Brandon, there's not much to say about Brandon. :cussing:

I'm pretending like I'm not going to watch... but really, Phillip is back, I have to watch! And Cochran, too, right?

In all of my excitement I came across this Survivor: Caramoan - Stephen Fishbach Blogs About Worst Favorites Ever : People.com

it reminded me that, yes, we are in for a lot of crazy.

I remember Brandon saying Uncle Russell and his whole family were embarassed by him the last time he was on. I expect he will be completely different this time around!!

I wonder if this is the "first time ever" thing that Jeff said in the beginning (or preview). He always seems to make a big deal out of something that isn't that big.

I really thought Fran would have learned from the first time, although I don't remember her strategizing that much her first season. (can you really call it their season if they only spent 3 days? )

The silliness of targeting Andrea (?not sure if that's her name?). She's the spy not the mastermind. :confused3:

    random thoughts:

I'm glad they didn't mix the teams. I really don't like it when returning players play with newbies because I don't think it is fair to the new people - and the editing always favors the returning players.

I am really sad for Fran, I think I liked her (or would have)

If you are going to wear skimpy little skivvies, at least be able to fill them out! (somehow I missed it last time that they were baggy in the front)

What are you thinking, hooking up the FIRST night IN THE SLEEPING QUARTERS??? if you can't control yourself, go into the jungle!

And the poor girl on the fan team who aligned with the hook up boy "I'm going to play it cool with you at camp" and the way he described her wasn't very nice - esp. after the whole "oh look at us, the cool kids hang out together" - I'll be happy watching that play out - there are 4 of them. They don't have numbers, I love it when the arrogant pretty ones get voted out and they have to play nice with people they previously found "beneath them"

Interested to see how Malcolm does- the faves don't know him and haven't seen his season.

Phillip is insane and it really bugs me to just look at his face. It's the eyes, I think.
The whole "I learned all of this from Boston Rob" - well, you obviously didn't learn the main thing Rob had - PEOPLE SKILLS. I am torn because I know every week he'll annoy the snot out of me... but also, I know he'll be entertaining so I'm not sure if I really want him to go.

I like Dawn (I liked her before, too) I think she and Malcolm may align, in my head they are an alliance already and I have no idea why

Cochran seems to have grown up a bit and is a bit more aware of how he comes off, etc - and HIS POOR FEET

I think both teams played hard in both challenges, so that is promising.

That Marine - what a jerkface. Just sitting there telling everyone to work on fire - UM, DUDE, YOU NEED SHELTER, TOO - I am, however, in awe of his flexibility

Cochran is likable, but I had a sunburn like that once. I couldn't do anything for days; was actually sick with the chills. I almost think I would have voted him out because he could hinder them in the challenges. I am always amazed that they vote "strategically" early like this when I would be voting out "weak physical" players.

I think I would have liked Francesca too, but she sure didn't learn from the first time around. She should have sat back and gone unnoticed for a while. She puts the target on her own back.

I am hoping Brandon pulls something out next week. I like twists, the unexpected. Hate it when the strong alliance just picks the others off one by one.

I thought the same - but did you see how fast he ran in the challenge? i was SURE he'd fall or not be able to do it because of his feet but he soldiered on.

Re: Brandon. I really can't stand him, so part of me hopes he doesn't bring out the crazy (he makes me think of Russell who reminds me WAYYY to much of my ex-husband) LOL. The previews made it look as if Brandon was in trouble, if that's the case that means the Faves lost another immunity challenge - which would be surprising. All of that being said, if Brandon brings the crazy, you know it will be good LOL

For some reason Brandon does not bother me. Philip does!! So were they saying the 'popular' girls were trying to throw the challenge on the raft? I am glad when the one called out the guy with the idol. And the army guy is the only reason they even got close in that challenge because he was pulling then in. And I recall him saying I am not swimming I am good with pulling so he was telling them what he was good at. He is just pushing their buttons.

    My random thoughts:

    1. Brandon is unstable. I'm sure he can't be *that* unstable because they have to go thru psych evals, right??? but the swinging in his thinking is just not in the world of what I'd consider "normal" - and granted their current experience is extreme but he's just, well, a cuckoo bird. That was the nicest way I could say that LOL

    2. Did you see the previews for next week? "I'll pee in the beans, I'll pee in the rice, I'll burn the shelter down?"... reminds me of that person who stole socks in the night and burned them (or buried them? - wasn't there a pair of shoes stolen and buried, too??)

    3. I'm laughing that the pretty posse got taken down a notch - but Shamar drives me INSANE. He's loud and obnoxious (or asleep), I can't deal with that kind of personality

    4. The Sandra Bullock looking girl is smart "Shamar is my Phillip" - she is playing the game and doing a good job. I worry about her, though because I think she needs to get closer to dude with the beard and the bald guy with glasses (I know, names would be helpful). I think bald/glasses guy has a chance to go pretty far.

    5. I'm glad the Fans lost so we could see more of their interactions. I still can't tell the girls apart, though

    6. Brandon is a cuckoo bird (yes, I'm repeating, but really, it is worth repeating)

    7. The thing The Specialist hasn't quite grasped is that Boston Rob didn't run around TELLING people they were "need to know" or announcing "this is how I'm playing this game" - sure, Boston Rob told US, during the private interviews .

8.The Specialist's eye bug me. I can't look at him without feeling all skeevy

    9. I like Malcolm

    10. I think a Malcolm/Denise/Cochran alliance would be awesome.

    11. I want Shamar, The Specialist, and Brandon voted off

    12. I really hate that I'm calling Phillip The Specialist

Phillip is driving me nuts, but he does make for good TV. I would have a hard time being around him in his underwear all the time :)

I do love Malcolm and would like to see him win.

Just call him pink panther then.

I think Reynold is smarter than he seems and let the clique thing go too far, esp since they only had 4 solid, stupid. The look on his face tells me he realizes it. If he can get some talk going with Matt & Michael they would be good to get Shemar out. It could happen with Shemar's mouth going in the previews.

I tell ya, if I ever get on Survivor my first target will be the lazy azz.

I had to look up Matt & Michael's names. From Michael's bio:

Should be interesting if he really doesn't like crazy.

I agree with lazy being an issue but they need the army guy for his strength right now. They need to keep him until I goes to individual.

I don't think they need strength as much as they need cohesiveness. We've seen too many times they keep around the strong guys but the tribe doesn't mesh well and they lose again and again. I think they can do without him. We'll see next week!

^^^Noooo. LOL. If you get cohesiveness then you have boring. :).

Why is it the lady who looks like Sandra Bullock only looks like her when her is wet and off her face? I kept thinking it was two diff people!! Does anyone else think the ones who were swimming on the fan team were doing poorly on purpose?? Malcolm is sure laying low.

Agree - especially because keeping him around may cause more unrest and unhappiness which would lead to lack of cohesiveness in challenges, etc, anyway. And he's good for strength but do we know if he can run, climb, jump, etc. The brute part is what was really good for them this week. I just don't know if the carp he's putting out there is worth dealing with just for his potential

I will say that he surprised me with the way he hugged and gushed "I love you guys!!" when he was told that he was wanted on an alliance.

True! I call BS on that girl seeing a bulge in Reynold's pants BTW. They showed a bunch of shots and I don't think anyone would have seen a bulge unless the camera person put a bug in her ear.

    LOL, I agree on Sandra.
Okay, cohesiveness is boring, but I'd rather watch strategy instead of just yelling mad people

Malcolm - halfway through the episode I realized I hadn't even seen him yet. I think it's smart, because he is an unknown entity to them so flying under the radar building relationships will serve him better than drawing attention to himself. I'm wondering he's allowed to tell them about his survivor game - because this was filmed before the other one aired...

oh wait, does that mean when he was on the final show from last season, he'd actually just gotten back from THIS season?

or she was REALLY interested in what was in his pants and watching him A LOT

but, I couldn't see it either, figured I must have missed something but your explanation makes much more sense

    so... my thoughts.

    1. I didn't think Shamar was stable, but after last night - I really really believe he is unstable.

    2. this is suppose to be FANS, right? um, why was Shamar acting like he'd never seen the show "when I see how people are out here, i don't want to be here"

    3. HOW ON EARTH IS HE STILL ON THE SHOW AFTER 'I WANT TO QUIT' AND THEN THEY LOST A CHALLENGE?

    4. I really like Matt (beard guy) and the bald guy whose name escapes me

    5. I think that Sandra Bullock is VERY smart and has a lot of control in that tribe. The others obviously wanted to vote Shamar off after he blabbed the plan but no one changed their vote.

    6. HOW ON EARTH IS HE STILL ON THE SHOW AFTER 'I BLABBED THE PLAN"

    7. I really think his perception of reality is different from the rest of us - I think he REALLY believes they are making things up about him. He's a little not okay in the head

    8. Shamar: "people didn't want to be around me, they didn't know how I'd react to anything, I was an alcoholic, it took me a long time to adjust, I had anger issues" - with the exception of the drinking, I'm not sure much has changed. And if his family and friends were that afraid to be around him - WHY IS HE ON AN ISLAND WITH A GROUP OF STRANGERS WHERE HE HAS TO BE ABLE TO ADAPT READILY???

    9. I don't like the combined immunity/reward challenges. Is it always like this at the beginning of the season? I want to see more interactions

    10. I'm glad we didn't have to witness too much Phillip this week

    11. Reynold really comes off as such a stuck up, spoiled, entitled, a*s

    12. Sandra Bullock IS very good at handling Shamar - but sad that she equates interacting with him with interacting with teenagers
    Modified CG since Dec 2011

Shamar is still there because Sandra Bullock woman befriended him, thinks she can control him, and who doesn't want to take the person no one likes to the end. That said, if I was there, I don't think I could stand all the disruption he has caused. He is worse than Phillip!!
