What is my hair type? Finally grew out my natural hair!

NahlaKNahlaK Posts: 1Registered Users
Just stopped blowdrying my hair and using the flat iron after one and a half years of growing out my relaxed hair.
I've been having my hair relaxed since.. maybe 9 years old?
I don't know what my hair type is..
Also, what products should I use on my hair if I want to wear it curly?
I appreciate any advice and help.
I currently use the mixed chicks deep conditioner, shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, and the shea moisture curls milk.
Are there any better products? I noticed that my hair is always really dry when it's not wet anymore.

Thanks! :)

Hey I noticed that you are using great products but not any sealing oil! Having a sealant is important because it locks in the moisture you got/get from water and your products. I don't know your hair type, but olive oil is a great moisturizing and sealing oil as well as aloe vera, coconut oil, jojoba oil, argan, and jamaican castor oil (there are still more to list!!). I hope this helps!! Moisture is an issue every curly has especially in the winter time so good luck :)

Since you've been ironing your hair and applying thermal heat for so long, it's hard to know exactly what your natural curl type is.

Typically, frequent heat application results in damage that results in a relaxed curl pattern. That could also explain your hair being dry.
