travel issues with curly hair

Later this year I will be taking a cruise to Alaska.
I know with all the wind, rain, and taking on/off a
hat all day long, my curls will be a frizzy disaster
before the morning would be over.....lol

Any suggestions on what to do. Right now my
hair is about 1-2 inches past shoulder and is
more wavy than curly. I don't plan on cutting so
by the time the cuise comes it will be much longer.
2b or 2c, Fine, Thick, Low Porosity

shoulder length, flat on top, waves to curls through the bottom half with better curls underneath

Currently using- DevaCurl Lo-Poo, One Conditioner, and AnGel

When I'm on vacation I just don't worry about my hair. I wear it in a pony or a braid and just enjoy myself.
If I'm going out to dinner or a show and have enough time I will 'do' my hair but if not I just leave it in a pony and forget about it.

You said wearing and taking off a hat right? Try clipping your roots up like the CG method suggests, so that when the hat comes off, you remove the clips and get nice definition and volume!
Another tip: pack light. Fill a travel bottle with a conditioner you can use as cowash, detangler and leave-in. Fill another one with either water or a light refresher if your hair really does lose its shape here and there.
finally starting to love my hair ^.^

I second the braids, and if you have formal dinners try an updo or half up half down. With all the weather and water variables it can be hard to tell how your hair is going to behave beforehand, at least for me.

i mean sometimes theres theres nothing you can do when the weather is against you.

i would use antifrizz & a strong hold curl cream in your routine, pomades also are good

I confess I usually straighten mine when I travel but I don't suppose that would work if you're expecting it to be rainy.

Actually I agree with the straightening. I am thinking that may be my best bet. I won't need any updo's or fancy stuff.
Between a hat and rain jacket, hopefully that will keep the rain at bay and not mess the hair up too much.

Good luck with it. I'm sooo jealous that you're going on an Alaskan cruise, I'd love to do that one day. Enjoy!
