Help Soothing Scalp from Irritation!

Hi ladies. I hope I've posted this in the right place. I recently had a bout with some shampoo/conditioner that did NOT agree with my scalp. It left it irritated and broken out in small little bumps. It itches like crazy! Is there anything that I can do to soothe the itching and the bumps? I am going nuts!
Be blessed,
Yolanda G.

You might want to try applying some Tea Tree Oil directly to the scalp. I used that before on my scalp and it did a great job soothing and healing it this one part of my scalp that was reacting to heaven-knows-what. It's readily available in drug stores and grocery stores. One thing you'll notice is that it smells very medicine-y. When I used it, I applied it at home when I was in for the night and was going to wash my hair the next morning. If you need to reapply but don't want to overwash your hair, you can probably just do a water rinse after the second (third) application process and not have a problem with it smelling.

I had a similar problem last night minus the red bumps. Yours may be an allergic reaction or just more severe. But I snapped open a leaf of aloe and massaged the gooey goodness into my scalp a few hours ago. It helped a little. I feel bad though. My poor aloe plant was bisected and amputated a lot over the summer and I've been meaning to lay off but desperate times calls for desperate measures. What shampoo and conditioner did you use that caused you to break out into hives by the way? I just found out my co-wash has a preservative known for causing dry scalp but then most conditioners even natural ones have a preservative that is bad for the scalp. You probably already know this but here is the link:

I am gonna switch out my co-wash soon and stop using it to massage my scalp. I also red that rubbing vitamin e or primrose oil into your scalp might help but seriously try aloe first. It is very soothing. And I will come back if I find anything else that works. I could not sleep last night so I know how maddening it is. I am sending curly girl empathy your way.
