New Fotki woo hoo! and Garnier Fructis Curl & Shine

Fellow ringlet sistas!
I am sooo happy. Well for one Ive been on this board on and off for about 3 years and I never took the time to build an album. So I finally did it. What drove me: GARNIER FRUCTIS CURL & SHINE line. Its sooo good. I read about it on someones blog, so many 4a readers responded I had to try it. The line is so inexpensive I bought everything I needed for 15 dollars. The shampoo was creamy and left my hair very soft, The conditioner is not the best Ive tried. But I had a Garnier Sleek and Shine 3 minute mask which is pretty good, so I applied that rinsed it and then used the curl & shine conditioner as a rinse. Once you apply the conditioner you automatically see your curls forming from the very root and no frizz. So I rinsed that out, applied the leave in and used the BEST product ever. Their "soft curl cream" its a gooey ooey thick conditioner that smells yummy. I applied it like i do the kcc in sections, running my fingers through each section to ensure thorough application. I kept seeing beautiful ringlets all over my head. Plus it fights shrinkage as well. The product instructs to apply on damp/slightly dry hair. IMAGINE THAT  on my cottony curls. Anyway check out some of my pics, from the experiment:

Your hair looks great with the Garnier, much more lively than with Curlisto. And I actually prefer your shape and volume pre-cut. Although it looks very good post-cut too.

I wish I could tolerate the smell of the GF. Maybe I could get used to it.

thanxs everyone, I added some pics of it dry to the album. I got the cut because unless I poofed it up alot my curls looked like a wedge head and I hated that. And after Cristin at Arte I felt my hair looked boxy when dried, so I visited Alice at Cristo and everything falls much better. Even though she warned me it wasn't going to come out GREAT because she was working against the shape that Cristin had already put and to completely reshape it, she would have to make it real short. Which we BOTH didnt want. Im still getting familiar with the shape and experimenting with diff options. The only product from the Sleek & Shine line I like is the 3min mask.

Ohh and Winterbloom I know what you mean. I usually dont cut

Thanxs Eccentric curl. The front and top looks just like yours but the back is soooo tight. You hair looks great. You got me wanting to go on the search for the Abba smooth and straight gel. It looks very pretty.

Thanks! That gel used to be my staple, but they discontinued it. :x It also came in a small tube, and I'd go through it pretty fast(and I could only find it online).

Foxycus02, thank you for your recommendation. I bought both the leave-in and soft curl cream and ... I loved it. I have to say that you're right with everything. I had gorgeous curls and it dried fast enough. More importantly, the curls are lasting and still feel moisturized. It's day 3 and my hair still looks and feels great. Thank you so much for the tip  I'll post pictures later.[/url]

Great Fleurtzy, Im so happy the products work as good for you as they did for me. I'm really surprised with this line. I thought it was just because it was a curl line but I compared it to my friends Frederick Fekkai luscious curls and Garnier was a clear winner. My pockets are so happy LOL. I think something in the curl cream might be a bit drying for my hair so I replaced it with Citre shine mega shine gel for daily use. But whenever I have a special event and want perfect ringlets, Im using that curl cream.

Fleurtzy your hair is like identical to mine. My front has looser curls but I think thats due to some color wear. Anyway, what do you use to slick your hair back. Its very neat and shiny. I have an interview tomorrow and def dont want to straighten so pulled back is my best bet. Share please :p

do you have any fantasia ic gel? this works great for slicking back hair. apply to the front and smooth. you can also use a brush to help smooth or tie a scarf to the front of your hair to help smooth and flatten.

I used fantasia gel the first time I went natural, but I hated that it flaked and when layered over conditioner sometimes these white balls would appear.

yep...it doesn't layer well with other conditioners. but if you are just using it for pulling back your hair, you don't need to add conditioner. ...just a suggestion.

I use Fantasia IC Blue for colors. I'm not sure if you tried that one. I also do my ponytails when my hair is wet. It helps to flatten it out. I usually use it with The Conditioner from PM or Cactus leave-in. Good luck on your interview!

Small fry you have gorgeous curls. Looks like your strands are full of moisture. Are you still transitioning or is that your natural texture?

Natakue your hair is awesome as well. Sooo many beautiful curly heads on this site :D .

i bought some of the garnier fructis curl and shine leave-in cream today and tried it out on a small section of my hair. i LOVE it so far. i'll try it more thoroughly the next time i wash.

They did work really nice on your hair, very pretty. For me tho the conditioner is not good, I still have some in my "gotta use up" pile..
The leave in was okay, Its a nice back up. Now the soft curl cream is one of my staples in the summer time. I love the way it defines without crunch or weighing down the hair..its a keeper.

i tried something with the curl & shine leave-in

i got this idea to add extra water to my curl & shine for added moisture

    i'm still testing it out,
but so far...it seems to work better as a moisturizer
and it seems to be working better at it's job of "curl enhancement"
i'm a 4a/3c mix...my curls and coils popped more than i've ever seen them pop before

also...adding the water made the product more plentiful
thus i wont have to buy it as often

    so far...so good
hopefully this will be a keeper!
