I'd tell her accept what you see. A lot of curlies want to be curly because they saw another curly and they want her hair. You have to accept your hair. Keep it healthy and moisturized. But that pattern is YOURS and is not likely to change EVER. Accept it.

My "curls" are waves- But not those big waves or loose waves. TIGHT waves, but not zig zags. Just tiny waves. I'd LOVE ringlets!!! But I don't have many up there. But that is my hair.

I can't get day 8 hair that is super defined. It changes. No matter how much gel I glob up there, day 2 hair is just not like day 1. And I use EcoStyler crystal and still no day 2 definition. It's just my hair.

Accept it. Accept your hair. Love it. It's yours.

As soon as you accept what you have the sooner you can enjoy natural hair bliss. :)

Ditto on the message about acceptance of what you have :occasion5: ... Accept your curls early on and you can save yourself a lot of angst and you possibly won't fall into the trap of Holy Grail chasing and product junky-ism.

Ditto to the above, and patience. There can be a lot of trial and error in figuring out products, techniques, etc. I've been doing CG for over a year and I'm still learning things about my hair.
