Hello ladies,
its been a while but i need advice and who better than my curlfriends.
I recently found out Im expecting. According to my lmp i am 8w today. At my first appt (also today) i had an ultrasound that showed an 8w sac with a fetal pole aged 6w2d. The doctor came in and didnt hesitate to say that i will probably have a spontaneous mc in the next few days or i will need a d and c. Obviously, i dont want to believe her. I have another appt for an US in 6 days. Should i expect some good news that day? Is it possible that the dates are off and my baby is fine? Anyone whos had a similar situation please help!

I made it! Tailbone length stretched, WL curly

Teri Laflesh's book "Curly Like Me" sits on my desk and everytime I get frustrated and an impulse tells me to shave my head, I look at it in hopes that one day my hair will graze the top of my butt.

I once had two sacs but just one heartbeat. I was told to come back in a week to see if the second baby had caught up. My twins are 12 now. You just never know. (I don't recall at what week I was at the time, it was early - I'd guess about 7-8 weeks.)

My suggestion to you is to stay positive and behave as though you are viably pregnant (healthy diet, no alcohol, etc). If you have, in fact, lost the baby - that simply will not change no matter how much you worry about it over the next 6 days. Conversely, that period of stress is not good for you or your baby, should all be well in the end. I'm sorry they seemingly focused on the negative and gave little hope...I think it's important you know the situation but it seems they could have been a little less direct and pessimistic. As evidenced especially in infertility treatment situations, in pregnancy, people sometime do beat the odds.
remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!! :read2:
    My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
    My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
    RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
    LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

It is possible your dates are off...but it's also possible your doc is right. I think you're going to have to wait and let this event unfold and reveal as it will. Good luck to you.

I don't have any personal experiences with the small fetal pole, but many (((hugs))) and best wishes.
