Build Up On 7 Year Old Wavy Hair

About 3 months ago I began using Natures Gate Herbal Shampoo and Loreal EverCreme Nourishing Leave in spray on my 7 year old granddaughter. She gets a lot of tangles and static.
Her hair is medium texture, medium/thick and 2a.
I noticed her hair getting weighed down, flat, and kind of dull looking. (she's blonde)
I used a sulfate shampoo and skipped the leave in on 2 separate occasions. I noticed a little bit of difference in the flatness but also that the smell of the NG herbal shampoo is still there.
So....i'm wondering if that is what is coating her hair?
Is there some other shampoo/detangler that I could use that won't cause build up?

I suggest a clarifying shampoo not just a regular sulfate shampoo

You could also try clarifying with a simple BS wash (be sure to follow with a rinse of ACV or other acid - lemon juice, white vinegar, etc.) Ratio for her hair...maybe a tsp or two in a cup of water. For both the bs and acv.
remember, with all advice or suggestions for your hair, YMMV!! :read2:
    My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
    My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
    RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
    LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)

Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.
