I haven't even begun to think about this yet! Did I ever keep a NY's Res. in the past? Don't remember.

Post here - maybe we'll all be inspired!

To lose weight! Or re-lose the weight I lost and gained back recently. Actually though it's not a New Year's resolution, per se. It's just that the winter holidays are officially over by Jan 2 and the constant food available from Thanksgiving onward is pretty much gone too. So there should be less temptation starting around Wednesday.

Start running again! If anyone is so inclined....send me a PM every so often to get my arse in gear!

CC: Mine is actually to start jogging.

I lost 10-12 lbs last summer doing Insanity, but my current accommodations doesn't allow for enough workout space that Insanity requires. So I've decided to just get some sneakers and go jogging in the mornings.

The lost one I made and kept was to stop drinking sodas. I was addicted to Pepsi which stained my teeth something fierce, and since stopping they've gotten better.

I still drink it every now and then, but not the 2 per day that I was up to back when I was in Japan.
I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

I think I may expand to a Queen mattress from a Full. However, I'm not sure if more room will make a difference; the dogs may still crowd in close at night, leading me to continue waking up and hollering, "G-damnit! Will you goons move over?!!!"

On a spiritual level, I'd like to judge people less harshly, and also get my a** to church more often. I miss singing with a choir.

I will probably continue to ignore my eyebrows, and I think that's okay.

Mine is too not stop running.

Something will always happen and I will just stop for like 4 months and then it's like having to start all over again.

Other than that none, I started my resolutions weeks ago, it's just that all the christmas cooking and traveling got in the way. :toothy4:

    To start exercising again.

To be more positive about my pregnancy. I'm excited about the outcome, but I've been really down the past few weeks. I didn't realize how truly awful I would feel at all times.

I have not made a resolution since I vowed to meet all the members of New Kids On The Block. If and when I cross that one off my list, I will consider making a new one.

I am determined to continue to loose my surgery weight. I started in June this year and have only lost 7lbs but it seems I may have PCOS. So that's another thing to fix in 2013.

    1. To launch my business.

    2. To continue my weightloss journey and exercise more.

    3. To keep in touch with friends and family more. I've been so horrible about returning calls or even calling. Need to be far better than I have been.

I don't usually make any as I think it's kind of pointless. You don't need a certain date on the calendar to make a change. You can do anything at any time.

You're right. But NYs is always a new time. We start a new year and hope to accomplish new (better) things for ourselves. Yes you can do this anytime, but there is a special significance about starting a new year.

I see "resolutions" as goals to aim for, not really changes in my life, but enhancements. I'm not changing anything, just working towards being better. JMO

I think thought that way too but I like starting new things in the new year because its a marker that's easy to remember. I also like to think of the new year as a fresh start.

I made a list of goals/resolutions last year and I re read it a few days ago and I was happy to realize that I accomplished a good amount of them. There were some goals I didn't accomplish and I reflected on it and I know why, so I can continue to work on accomplishing them. Hopefully I will succeed this new year. Some goals I had though were a little ridiculous and a really unrealistic so I also see how much I've matured, which is cool.lol

Learning how to paint cars (I periodically get requests for custom paint jobs and I'm sick of turning them down)

I have some yoga poses I'm working towards

Then there are some home improvements I'm hoping to get done once the weather gets warm again.

Usually its to lose weight - of course.

Or nothing bc resolutions usually get forgotten after a month bc if we really wanted to change we'd change now.

But this year I'm sick of the cycle. I'm sick of my body image issues and self hatred and the desire to lose weight, and the thought that clothes wont look good on me unless I'm tiny -

    So -

    My resolutions are to:

Give myself and my body as much credit as I give to other people

To be comfortable with my body

To stop cutting my hair in response to my insecurities and let it grow

To finally make an appointment with a PCP.

I was talking about this with someone recently that long lasting changes are usually as a result of some major event or catastrophe which is why resolutions never seem to work out. There is no real impetus behind them. Granted I just took Schumpeter's concept of creative destruction and applied it to real life, but it makes sense, at least to me.

Also, I saw this thing on FB that I think would be pretty awesome. Instead of resolutions, start with an empty jar and as you go through the year you write down good things that happen and drop them in the jar. That way at the end of 2013 (December 31st if you like) you can sit down and go through them. That way you focus on the positives and not the negatives.

^^WOW. That sounds great! I will share with my family. I think it would be great to start a family jar of good things and share them around thanksgiving and christmas.

Great idea kayb! I'm gonna do this.

I'm also starting my resolutions today by going out, which is something I never do. I want to be more social and open to new relationships. I've purged so much over the years that I've grown comfortable being a loner. I don't want to be a social butterfly or anything, just not a total hermit.lol So I'm going out tonight even though I really would just rather sit at home and eat ice cream.
