Unmanagable 3c hair

Hi everyone,
I have really curly 3c hair. It's at my shoulders when its wet, but it always shrinks to below my ears when it dries. I wash my hair every 1-2 weeks and dc everytime i wash i straighten every other week as I can't manage my hair anyother way. It always gets dry and frizzy even when i straighten it and I usually have to single braid my hair or put it into a bun. I am also trying to grow my hair to bsl curly, but I don't know where to begin. Pleaseeee can you give me tips and advice???

    Welcome Ismahan :)

first of all we would need some more information about your hair properties, porosity, products you're using (are you CG?), routine ...and so on!
Knowing those things will make it a lot easier for us to give you proper advice :)

Wash every 1-2 weeks? Do you mean condition or shampoo, or both? I think if I skip conditioning my hair for over a few days it becomes completely unruly and unmanagable. You might want to up your co-washing (washing your hair with only conditoner). Make sure you are moisturizing. If your hair isn't getting past a certain length that can only mean breakage (if you have no medical problems that would prevent your hair growing from the scalp).

When you say you straighten every other week...how long do you keep it straightened? I think heating tools will also definitely affect the health of your hair. Minimize using heat on your hair to almost 0. If you absolutely must I would reduce it to straightening a few times a year (if you're really serious about growing your hair out).

But yes, it'd be nice to know your regimen and the products you use.

    Good luck!
Mostly 3c and lovin' my curls

This is not a fashion trend, it's not a statement, it's pride for who we are and what we look like. And that is where our true beauty shines.
