I love the one from Age 9 called "Found" with the two babies. I found it interesting that she used the word "colored" in the description of the painting.

I took it to mean people of color, because when referring specifically to the two children she said Black.

Geeze, when I was 9, I was still struggling to grasp the concept of shading...

Her paintings are beautiful - I'll have to tell my art teacher about this.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Either way, her paintings are gorgeous.

Wow she has a lot of talent. Does anyone remember another child prodigy artist like this, who used to paint cubist style paintings in the 90s? I remember she made one painting after the Oklahoma City bombing that was pretty famous.

It sounds like she's schizophrenic. Come on, vivid visual hallucinations? Either that, or she's a pathological liar.

I love how the narrator smugly suggests that this is a religious experience, a child saint whose faith overcame the doubts of her evil atheist mother--and not childhood manifestation of mental illness.

I'm glad, though, to know that God is "really masculine...his eyes are just beautiful." Sounds dreamy! What's his number?

Sounds like a load of crap to me, though I admit, the paintings are very impressive for someone her age without any training. I'm just not quite sold on the whole her-seeing-god thing.

aw, y'all are so cynical!! Is a gift like that really a sign of mental illness? Is it really so ridiculous to believe that a little girl has been given a gidt by God? I think shes absolutely remarkable and feel she has been truely Blessed in so many ways. Those paintings gave me chills.

If you don't believe that God is a white dude with a beard, then, yeah, it is pretty ridiculous. Her technical skills are quite remarkable, her paintings tend toward the cheesy, but she's 12, so they should be.

A little....kooky. Visits to heaven? Seriously?

Beautiful paintings, though. "God" looks like one of my ex-boyfriends.

    Beautiful paintings, though.

Yea, that's why I thought I'd post it. The religious aspect aside, I was just amazed at how much talent she has for a 12-year old child. Heck, I can't draw a decent stick man!

A friend emailed me her website a few months ago. I'm still amazed at this little girl's talent! I don't really care how creepy people think she might be, I think she's inspiring and her paintings are very nice. So, she's different. What's wrong with that? She's not hurting anyone. Seems like she's only trying to send a positive message..
    *shrug*
    I like her.

    (just my humble opinion):
btw...I tend to think God doesn't have "one" type of face. If someone sees God as a certain image, that's their business. Most of the time, I imagine God looking like an elderly black man. But that's just me. Sometimes you can't help what your imagination dictates to you. We're just human, afterall.

That dude drives me nuts, I can't stand watching him for more than a few minutes before I start twitching and wanting to run out of the room. (Jim Carey, not Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman is one of the few actors that I love.)

btw... has nothing to do with a movie. whatsoever.

Wow! Watching that literally brought tears to my eyes. What I wouldn't give to have that gift. I love to sketch, but am not very good at it - I just enjoy it. To be able to transfer onto paper what is in my mind like that would be amazing!!!
